As I mentioned this weekend, my stash is dull, dull, dull. So I want you to spend my money for me. Are you all up for it? ;)

I need dipes that fit these requirements: good for a heavy wetter and a big kid (31+ pounds). Bonus points if you think it will work for over-night. Right now, we have to double-sposie Alex at night because he pees so much. Extra bonus points if you can find something with fish/sharks/whales or trucks or giraffes/elephants/monkeys. We mostly have baby blanket pockets, a few apronstrings pockets, a few fb, and some misc.

Since we have all pockets and AIOs, we have no covers. So if you recommend a fitted, please recommend a cover, too. I've got funded paypal ready to go. Cost is not too much of a factor. I want cute and no leaks and am willing to pay. :)

Susan! It was great meeting you and Alex at the retreat!
Ok, I have been thinking about what would fit your needs for such a heavy wetter and am coming up blank. Seems to me that Alex is like Schuyler (lizajane.. where are you????) and nothing would really work well at night. I don't even know if a Benjamuffin Night would fit your needs. I know you have all pockets.. so am trying to think of a fitted solution.. hopefully others with such heavy wetters chime in too.

Rashmi, it was great to meet you, Leela, and James (hoping I am remembering your Dh's name correctly) too. :) I absolutely love the picture you took of Alex at Neve's parents' house. I need to go order a few copies.

If I can't find something to work at night, that's not a big deal. If I could get rid of his 8-12 ounces of milk before bed habit, he probably wouldn't pee as much. Duh.

Not sure how much of a heavy wetter he is aside from that. I have sometimes been pleasantly surprised that he's stayed dry when he takes an unexpectedly long nap in a dipe I was unsure about, so something cute for the daytime wouldn't need to be quite as absorbent. Sheesh, that sentence didn't make much sense. Hope ykwim.

Hi Susan! Loved meeting you and Alex. And love those curls! :)

Jonah is a very heavy wetter. We always have to use hemp. For overnight, my newest favorite is the very baby simply nights. It is the only fitted that Jonah could ever wear at night. Let me know if you would like to borrow one. I have 2 that haven't even been worn. Jonah is about 30 lbs, BTW. Other than those, I use FB stuffed with ella inserts and a wool doubler.

As for daytime, we use a lot of SOS diapers and diapers from fluffymail.com. I know, that doesn't help, they aren't the easiest to get. SOS are not too hard to get these days, but first class baby and little caboose are nearly impossible. :( I do have one Simon's custom cloth fitted diaper...it is hemp with an outer knit print...it is one of my most absorbant fitteds, I love it! It has a weird soaker design, but I still put it on him all the time.

If you still like pockets, I really love the snap EZ. I still use those occasionally for Jonah and they definitely work for overnight, just like the FB.

As for covers, I recommend a motherease airflow. Love ours and never had a leak. And they have some great new designs that I just know you will like. Whales is kind of their signature thing I guess, they did have one covered with whales. But they have some new ones, their eco themed covers, that are so cute. I have the savannah and the rainforest covers, love them www.motherease.com

HTH! If I think of anything else, I will LYK. Hope you find some fun fluff!! :)

Yep, dh is james. :)
Glad you liked the pics.. Alex's curls are to die for!
Jen gave some great suggestions. Right now my favourite dipes are the Bijou fitteds, but i am going to be trying some Cherrybomb fitteds too.. and Loveybums too. I don't think either of those are super absorbant, but i think if you change soon after he pees, you should be fine.
Covers... are you willing to try some wool?

I'll have to go with Jen's recommend on SOS dipes & the ME airflow covers. I used them on DS when he was a chunker. I could also use the large sandies from Motherease on him with an extra fleece topped, hemp doubler inside.

I love Righteous Baby. The website says they have a size 3 coming soon, that might be a good thing to watch out for.

By the way, I made it to the Keedo store on Monday but I was not impressed. I think I can live with the three outfits I got online. :) The store owner seemed surprised that they are selling online now. And she didn't have any hair ponies so I couldn't exchange my blue for green. :(

I just wanted to say "Hey!" since you've already gotten some great suggestions. I LOVE the VB Simply Nights for Kaya with an Aristocrat cover. I do use Benjamuffins Nightdreamers as well and it works almost as well. She's got a pretty large variety of fabrics, including one I got with giraffes, elephants, and lions. She's currently closed for customs, but may open up in June. You could e-mail her and ask. During the day, I really love my Bijou Baby Hemp diapers, but they don't have any cute prints on them. But they're good for chunky thighs, as are Kindhearted Women diapers. With both, I need an extra doubler for my heavy wetter. Jaime (Bijou Baby) is fantastic to work with and you could e-mail her your measurements and also find out when she's available. I think she even does print diapers, so you could see if she has any prints avaible that would meet your requirements. Personally, I'm starting to like the plain hemp with different colored jeanstitching--each of mine is a different color, LOL. I figured that way I could match up the doublers and soakers. (I'm weird like that.) :)

Lizajane is currently on hiatus, but I remember her saying that MEOS (not cute) with fleece-topped hemp doublers inside of a MEAF cover (which you can get in cute prints) worked really well for her heavy wetters. So you might try that.

Are Sammy's One-Size the same as SOS diapers? If so, Baby Marketplace is having a sale on diaper right now.

LOL.. so this would be a good time for me to post all my stuff that doesn't fit on the BBB swap board.

Sadly most of my stuff is too small for your babe!

Jen, thanks so much for all the recommendations. I actually had some smaller motherease airflows I had when Alex was little. They've definitely got some cute ones. Off to stalk some sites... :)

Another recommendation for SOS, huh? I'll have to check them out. Just to make sure I've got the right ones, this is the site, right?

Karen, do you like the Righteous Baby FLAG diapers or the Shell Sets?

Sorry to hear the Keedo store wasn't any good. I've never been there - just knew where it was.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, Eileen! I really need to take Alex's measurements. I plan on doing it first thing tomorrow if I can remember.

Holli, you have a gorgeous stash. But yes, I think that most of it would be too small. :( Let me know if you've got anything big that you want to part with!

How about some custom Tykie fitteds? www.tykiediapers.com She has a nice orca woven print, and a PRR Safari knit. I'm not a huge fan of her other fabrics, but her dipes are wonderful quality. She has an XL that I think would fit your guy. The WHAM (really a work at home Granny) sews flawlessly, and has great CS. She'd probably make you some extra fleece topped hemp doublers to increase your absorbancy. Motherease Airflows would work great over these. You could also probably go to the fabric store and get some cute prints to send to Ann.

I've also been eyeing the fabrics at www.thecalicobaby.com and she's got lots of cool prints. I haven't tried her dipes, but I have a cover, and my advice is size up!

Bummer, they seem hard to get--all sold out and they're not taking customs.

Just wanted to add that Ann at Tykie's also will do front snapping as well as side-snapping if that's your preference. I would also send her your measurements, since I really do think that Tykie's run somewhat small.

The medium calico baby I have definitely fits Kaya, BUT I think the rise could be a bit higher. When I e-mailed her about it she said that if I ever order again, I can just remind her and she'll lengthen the rise. So she'll definitely work with you!

I thought I should pipe in with some opinions!

I agree that Tykies run small, but Ann's work is top-notch so I highly recommend them! She'd help you with sizing for sure.

We actually fit very well in the size 2 RB and Mari is only 19 pounds, and it's all in her bum and thighs.

Country Cuttins is not a brand I hear of much at all. I bought some because I liked their prints at the WAHM congo Universal Mama, but I have been pleasantly surprised by them. The mediums fit my chunk well.

Unfortunately most of the other ones that work well for us are difficult to get. :(

But, I have a cover recommendation! Celtic Wool Creations are one of my mainstays for nightime diapering. I just love ours, and the size 3 would probably work!
