Shameless thigh pics...please share!

This post started out as a request for advice. But now I'm curious to see how dipes fit other babes in the thighs...
Come on Nohomama...I know you've got somethin' to share. :)

(original post) We're starting to have strange fit issues with many of Cadie's fitteds. When I put on a side-snap dipe, sometimes the under flaps(wings?) seem to not reach around her thighs. How can I explain this better? I can't figure out if we need diapers with bigger thigh measurements or a longer rise. Her thighs really aren't that big. The top of the wing digs into her thigh. Almost like it goes up and around her thighs...ugh can't articulate

Hmm...no thigh pics to share right now, but Kaya has had that problem and I'm actually getting ready to sell my medium Calico Baby and Medium Very Baby, even though I love them. Our solution is to use higher rise diapers, or diapers cut higher in the thighs. I think it's why the Bijou Baby and KHW Classic Cut seems to fit Kaya, even though their rise is not as high as, say, the Tykie diapers. Kaya's torso is long, like mine, so I THINK that her rise is maybe a little longer? Although when I measure belly button to belly button (in back), it's only 14" which is not a huge rise. But still, for some reason, it seems that diapers with lower rises, such as the CB and VB FS medium, will fit her waist wise (she has a tiny waist in comparison), but their rises will not quite make it over her legs.

Not sure if this helps at all, but I thought I'd share that we've had similar problems.

Yes, this does help. It sounds as though we have the same problem. So which other diapers are cut higher in the thigh? Elbees seem to work well. Mudpies and BabyBloomrs fitteds seem to be problematic right now.

Okay, I'm now convinced that diapers fitting on babies is not just about their measurements but somehow their shapes too.

Mari has 20" waist, 12.5" thighs, and 15" rise and is about 19 lbs and stocky. I think all her body weight is between her knee-caps and belly button!

Her medium Mudpies fit really well. She can't wear front-snap Elbees at all, and large Tykies fit much better than medium but some of the mediums seem to fit even though they shouldn't...it's kind of hit and miss.

Yeah, the mudpies work okay, but they don't fit nearly as well as the Bijous or KHW. I'm glad to hear Elbees work well as I'm getting some of them soon! 2 of them will be pocket fitted, though, so I'll have to see how well those work. As for other diapers, the Tykie Side-Snaps generally fit well. I'm looking into the F-S, but her first trial didn't work so well--I think she made me an XL! I know my Bijous and KHW's are pretty plain, except for the jeanstitching, but they're currently my best fitting diapers. The majority of my stash is made out of them--I know, plain, but functional. :)

Okay, that's just confusing. :) But it's probably why my stash went through several changes before I finally managed to find some FS diapers that fit Kaya well.

Girl Woman Goddess diapers are cut high in the thigh. They're still in testing stages... ;)

I think you can get "French cut" from some place--sugar something?

Sugarbums, www.sugarbums.com and they are great for chunky thighs! I also like Celestial Baby, www.celestialbaby.com . I think she's stocking at hyenacart now. Both dipes are of that type that look too tiny when you take them out of the mailer, but they fit great. Both are SS. I can't imagine Forrest ever outgrowing the Larges, and they have fit since about 7 mo.

Ask and ye shall receive. :) I'm not certain if these pictures adequately convey how enormous Astrid's thighs are. My Mom is visiting and was commenting yesterday how much Astrid resembles me as a baby, both in terms of looks and build (Can you say "fire plug"?). She then added, "Although, I don't remember the thighs." They are truly a sight to behold.

You needto try a mudpie with side aplix. The fit is amazing. I can't use side snap with Noah because I can never get a good thigh fit.

I don't have pics right now, but I've had "thigh fit issues" with littleman, too. I usually find that if I snap the waist one snap tighter (on each side) than I snap the thighs, the fit works well. Exceptions are his Sugarbums french cuts, and his Sugarpeas fleece cover- those I can snap on, say, the second snap on both top and bottom. Does that make sense? (Though the Sugarpeas fleece cover still has a bit of a gap around the thighs sometimes- that bugs me even though it's not really a problem).

I have been snapping Cadie's Babybloomrs this way. She's on the last thigh snap in those. I'll have to check out Sugarbums. I see one Large instock, but I think I need a medium.
