Ok...so I finally have some wipes on order and a sample of those honey chunks. Now what? Can I keep the wipes wettened ahead of time? What is the best container to keep them in....do I have to wetten each time? I know some people keep the solution in a peri-bottle and then what - wetten with each use? How long does the solution last? I know to use distilled water for longer use right?

AHHHH! Im excited and nervous all the time. I love my beloved wipes but HATE that they are not biodegradeable soooo on to the next adventure. Help! Please help make this transition easier. Thanks! :)

I prefer using the peri bottle, but I have a couple of bottles of premade solution so if I run out of the peri bottle, I can just refill and not have to make up the solution. I think some people keep their wipes wet ahead of time in a wipes warmer, and yes, you would use distilled water. I just use plain tap water, since I go through the solution quickly enough I don't have to worry about mildew or anything like that. I imagine you could also use a container and premoisten everything without having to warm up the wipes.

I think I fill my peri bottle once a day (depending on how poopy a day it is) and each baby bits makes 4 bottles worth? That said, it must not be that often because I've had the same package of baby bits for the last 6 months and I still have some left.

Good luck!

ETA: I use spray bottles in my diaper bag. I just spray her bum and wipe. Hmm...maybe it's time to replace my peri bottle with a spray bottle as well. :)

No peri bottle here but I bought a bunch of spray bottles and filled them. If you use distilled water for your mix, it will last quite a while!

I just keep a stack of 6-8 wipes in an old wipes container, wet them in the morning, and they last all day. This way they're just like sposie wipes, but better for DD's bum. I just use water. If you have some type of soap solution, it'd probably last longer, but wetting a pile once a day is easy.

I hope this isn't hijacking the thread, but if you use a cloth wipe to wipe off a lot of sticky poop (poop that won't shake off into the toilet), what do you with it then? Do you throw the dirty wipe in the diaper pail even with LOTS of poop on it? I can understand putting it in with some poop on it, but not gobs of it.

I for one use one or two sposie wipes for solids poop. Then I finish with cloth. If I had lots of dark colored wipes, I'd probably use cloth, but I hate seeing stains on my light colored wipes :).

We have a mini shower and spray off the wipes and diaper.

Like Holli, since we spray off the diaper, I just go ahead and spray off the wipe. Pee wipes go straight in the pail, poop wipes get sprayed.

I do that, too, except I use a small Sterilite container, since I don't have a used wipes container. I find I can go about 2 days before they don't seem fresh to me. I use plain tap water.
