Okay I had to qualify that query! I am into fulltime Cding for my DD and hence my ignorance here. I buy Pampers Swaddlers for the occasional trip etc. and my DD at about 10 1/2 lbs fits into a size 1. Since we don't really use the packet up easily, I hesitate to buy in bulk and waste half a packet coz she as outgrown the size. So, can someone tell me the difference between size 1 and size 1-2? Are the latter diapers bigger? I would prefer buying 1-2 if I know they are not that much bigger and might last me a little longer and get used up in upcoming trips.

Thanks,
Ritu

They are slightly bigger. 2's go to 18 lbs I think? I am not sure what the 1/2's go to. Of course by weight my DD would still be in a two and she is very much a size 3 girl these days.
I can tell you that we bought a bulk box of 1-2 for DD and we mostly CD, it lasted us about 4+ months. We still haven't bought a big box of 3's for DD. Just doesn't seem worth it and I have too much clutter sitting around already, a big box of sposies just doesn't seem to be practical. If you have the space then I would go for it, you could always cluster 'spose her butt if she starts getting too big for them. That is how we cleaned out our last size 2 stash.

I am execting our second child next January. I'm hoping to cloth diaper him/her. For our first child we used sposies (daycare wouldn't do cloth and DH wasn't up for part cloth/part sposie thing).

Anyway, I believe the size 1/2 bulk box has half size 1 and half size 2 in it. Not entirely sure since it's been ~4 years since we had our first.

I have a box of 1/2 sitting at home - I know they are all the same size (not half 1's and half 2's) - I'll look and post tomorrow what the weight limits are if nobody else has by then.

Size 1-2 is slightly bigger, and that's mostly because there is more side stretch than the Size 1's.

Just buy Size 2's, you'll get longer use out of the bag/box, and the length should help prevent blow outs up the back for longer.

Ritu -

Sorry it took me so long to remember to look at the box! They are Huggies Supreme, not Pampers, but the box says for babies up to 15 lbs - so only slightly bigger than a size 1 I think (I think Huggies size 1 go up to 14lbs) Hope that helps!
