DH, DS and I just took a road trip to see family and friends and used sposies for the trip (no access to washers most of the time.) We have CD'd since coming home from the hospital and I was shocked at how much more the sposies smelled. I don't think the CDs smell when wet and smell very little when poopy but sposies really stank up the place as soon as they were dirty. (Lots of fun when your stuck in a car and the closest rest stop in 15-30 minutes away!!) I am flying with DS on Monday to see my parents and will have washers available the whole time, I'm soooo happy to be able to bring my cloth diapers.
I love my fluff!!!

Yes, when we travel I always try to be able to use our CDs. People think I'm nuts, but I just like them so much better! Generally it's not much of a hassle.

It's always good to be back in cloth! We just tried Target's brand of sposies. We're replacing our laundry room floor and hope(!) to have it done by Monday, but in case we don't, I wanted sposies on hand because I don't have time to go to a laundry mat this week (we are moving in 2 weeks). So, the Target brand doesn't smell! It doesn't reak of perfume like Pampers, and it doesn't smell like amonia like Huggies. And, they were pretty darn cheap. No leaks, either.

I've been lucky that every vacation we've gone to has been a relative's home with washer and dryer, so that I've always brought my CDs. I haven't had to use sposies since the hospital, but I do remember being surprised at how little CDs smelled compared to the sposies in the hospital. In particular, there was a really strong chemical smell (IMO). Nowadays, when I go to a friend's house (or they bring their toddler over), I can always tell when they poop, rather than when DD poops because the smell is very different. I can't imagine having soiled disposables in a closed in car for a long time!

ETA: I'm hoping Kaya PT's before we ever have to stay somewhere that doesn't have washer/dryer access!
