Do I have to pre-soak the Cushie AIO's? We just added some Snap E-Z's, and those require a dry-pail, which I would prefer to do for all. Can I just do a dry-pail for everything, and do a cold wash w/ a little detergent, followed by a hot wash w/ little detg, followed by a hot cycle w/ no detg? Does that make *any* sense? :) Thanks for helping out a new CDer!

I use a dry pail for everything. We just started CDing about 7 months ago and your laundry routine is really close to mine. The only difference is that I use Sports Wash instead of detergent. The pail liners I use are from walmart nylon camp bags for about $4 each. I have 3 ( 2 pails) and I just wash them with the diapers.
Makes total sense :)

I do dry-pail for everything. Some of the diapers are wet because I spray off the poopy diapers, but it's still a "dry" pail. I do a cold rinse first, then a hot wash with some detergent and two cold rinses, and another hot wash with two cold rinses, no detergent at all. You probably don't need any detergent in the first cycle--and you can possibly try just doing a cold rinse and then doing the wash.

Do you ever sprinkle sented baking soda ( lavendar or peppermint) on your diapers while in the pail?

Not usually. Sometimes, if it seems kind of a strong odor, I'll add some tea tree oil to a wash cloth and drop it in. It seems to do the trick.

Now, I have sprinkled scented baking soda in my garbage pail. :)

Oh, thanks so much, girls! By the way, where do you get tea tree oil? WAHM sites? Thanks,

You can get them from various WAHM sites, including Kindhearted Women. However, I get all my essential oils and herbal supplements from iherb.com. They have great prices (with daily discount codes) and free shipping if you buy $20 worth (which I typically do).

I really don't know of anyone that actually does a wet pail or soaking pail for their diapers anymore, so I personally wouldn't bother with that. I have all different brands and types of diapers, and have done a dry pail (no soaking!) since day one...which was over 2 years ago, and never had a problem :)
