Has anyone tried these - the kind that come in a big box? They are sooo cheap, esp. on sale or with a coupon, but what are the diapers like?

I never tried them because an experienced mom friend of mine said they weren't very good. She usually uses the Publix generics for comparison.

I'd probably get a small pack of them to try them out first. You wouldn't want to go through a huge box of dipes you don't like. Let us know what you think if you do try them. :)

I started CDing DS in January, so this memory isn't fresh, but if it's the same Especially for Baby that's sold at (I think) TRU in Canada, then I think I liked them. They were nothing special, but I don't remember them being the worst of the bunch...

I used them briefly when DD was an infant. I bought them for use at daycare. However, I only made it a few weeks before I quit working. And although I remember liking them more than I thought I would, I didn't like them enough to keep using them at home.

We tried them, but didn't like them. They were very plastic feeling and didn't have the stretch that Pampers did. We bought them once and never again.

I hated them when DS was tiny but haven't tried them again in a long time (we use cloth primarily).

At least back when I tried them, BRU took back an open package with probably 2 diapers used. I just told them that I didn't like them. So might be worth trying - not much to lose!

I bought them once and used the whole bag we bought. I tried them because they were so cheap with the coupon!! However, like a pp poster said, they didn't have the nice stretch that some other diapers do so I didn't love them. They did the job but weren't my favorites.

I never tried the plain especialy for baby, but I did try the supreme ones. The supremes weren't bad.

I thought they were fine. I used them for quite a while actually....went through two of those large boxes. I stopped buying them because DH is really picky about diapers and complained about them. They do the job...absorbent, don't leak...but they don't have a nice soft texture like Pampers Cruisers and don't have any stretch in the tabs. I think it depends on your baby's tummy and legs, ultimately. I agree c what the PP said about trying a small pack first. If you like them, they can't be beat for the price!

I also liked Walmart's White Cloud brand and Sam's Clubs Smiles brand. I hear Luvs are good now too, but haven't tried them. I think DH is just prejudiced against "generic" brands...can't think beyond Huggies and Pampers. I wish he would, though!

HTH!

Just wanted to say that I LOVE your DD's names! They're so beautiful! You're not from Hawaii are you?

Oh, and to the OP, no ideas about sposies, but there have been recent threads about the current Target brand--people really seem to love them.

Eileen,

Thank you! They are Hawaiian names (though we are not from Hawaii, LOL!). Keilani (which we changed to Kaylana) means glorious chief and Noelani means mist from heaven.

I love the names Kaya and Leah too. How beautiful!

That's so neat that you gave your daughters Hawaiian names. They really are beautiful and I love that they have meanings. Kaya means Resting Place (sleeping tent) in Japanese and Wise Child in Hopi. But we are neither Japanese, nor Hopi (but my dad speaks and loves the Japanese culture and my MIL (and FIL) loved the Native American culture). Leah is actually Beth (egoldberg)'s daughter who passed away in April. :( I no longer physically light a candle for her, but I do remember her.

Okay, I will be on the minority here, but I actually like these diapers very much. I like them because they are very soft, have no fragance and no dyes and are inexpensive. We experienced no leaks with these. Now that I think of it, I often have a package around for when we can't figure out a night time diaper concoction (we use cloth diapers 90% of the time) and for going out.
