Are they soft? Abigail is about to potty train and I'm not going to invest in cloth for her at this point, but she HATES the new Pampers. Huggies aren't so hot, either, and they don't fit her well. We're sort of desperately searching for a temporary solution. What are the 7th Gen ones like?

I have no experience with sposies, but here are a couple of recent threads on 7th generation and target and a couple other brands:

I hope you're able to find something that works for her!

I don't think they are softer than huggies, they are sort of papery. My friend uses them exclusively, and we used a few while visiting them when our nighttime CDs were in the wash. They fit OK, and held overnight for my light wetter. Not very stretchy, either, IMO. A caveat, however, I have used 4 packs of sposies in 18 months, all Huggies Supremes. So limited experience, to say the least!

How about Pull-Ups? I know they are spendier, but are they softer/stretchier?

I liked the 7th generation. I got a great deal at amazon where they were 8.99 a pkg (with an additional 20 giftcard with purchase), so they ended up being about 20cents a diaper. And the diapers have a broader weight range (7th gen LARGE is 16-34 lb compared to SIZE 3 which is only 16-28 lb). The diapers are bigger, but seem more comfortable -- they seem softer (i.e. less plastic). They work well at night. Since they are larger than regular size 3, I do have to worry about poop leaks with my 19 lb daughter, but at all other times of the day they work fine.

I highly recommend them. Unfortnuately I cannot find a good price for them anywhere, so I am conserving my pkgs for only at night.

Your post answers another question I've been meaning to research but havent had the time yet -- questions about when to start potty training! I'm assuming when they are three?

I have not tried them yet, but have heard great things about Target's brand.
