View Full Version : Is there really any difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 diaper genie refills?

I know that you're supposed to move to Stage 2 once DC starts eating solids, but is there really any difference between the refills (other than $2 price difference)?

There is a difference. I think the plastic is thicker, and it does help keep it from stinking as much.

That being said, if you don't have a problem with smell with Stage 1, I wouldn't worry about it. I only buy Stage 2s when Toys R Us has the buy 3 get 1 free sale going. We just make sure to change it frequently.

Of course, we're CDing most of the time during the day now. However, we generally leave her in a sposie until she's had her morning poop, so most of the diapers in the Genie are poopy ones.

We just use the stage 1 refills in the diaper genie in DD's room, and put all poopy diapers in the kitchen trash which gets taken out every day anyway. If it's a really bad diaper, it goes right outside. Much cheaper that way.
