Fleece, cotton, cotton fleece, hemp, cotton hemp, oval, rectangle, stuffed, trim... ACK! Doublers are as overwhelming as the dipes themselves. However, we clearly need some around here. How do I know what to get?

Give us a description of what you want to stuff/double, and it will be easier to make a suggestion!

Lol. I have been CD-ing for only a day, so I don't entirely know. Right now I have a few Kissaluvs and other fitteds and some prefolds (the latter of which I have not been brave enough to try). He's a heavy wetter, though, and I need to keep him a bit more dry when he's sleeping.

Thanks! :)

Are the diapers becomming totally soaked through? Or, do you just want his skin dryer? If it's a skin dry thing, you can just buy micro-fleece at JoAnn's and cut rectangles and put those in the diaper. The micro-fleece will wick the moisture away and keep his skin nice and dry to the touch. These are typically called "liners" rather than "doublers".

If you need extra absorbancy, then you want hemp or something that absorbs. I have a fairly light wetter, so I really can't offer much advice on these. But, to keep the skin dry, you can usually get doublers topped with fleece.

My faves are the ones from Jen at MNM! They are really absorbent and fleece topped so the baby will stay dry.

Lori (momof3labs) recommended them long ago and we use them all of the time still. :-)

Yup! Those are my absolute favorite doublers. Really soft and absorbent. She no longer uses synthetic fleece, but the hemp fleece that she does use keeps Kaya decently dry (but not as dry as polyester fleece). But if that's an issue, adding a fleece liner is really easy.

Thanks Eileen, for that recommendation, as I just made my first Hyena's Cart purchase getting I think the last set of LARGE doublers from MnM creations :) I feel so special!

To the OP, in our limited experience we have found fleece/hemp doublers to be the best: fleece because as someone mentioned it wicks away moisture from baby's skin, and hemp because it absorbs a lot!

I also went to the fabric store and bought a bunch of fleece to make liners (basically just cut out the pieces, no need to hem or anything). This is very very cheap as there's always some sort of fleece on sale (the undesirable print I suppose, but who cares :) I got some awesome vibrant orange fleece on clearance at JoAnn's fabrics for this purpose. Enough was left over for a blankie. LOL

Wow, I feel special. :) Yes, those large ones are pretty awesome in terms of absorbency and Kaya seems to find them comfortable. I use them in her nap time and night diapers. I'm actually thinking that for a newborn, they'll make a nice trim night time diaper, as long as they've stopped pooping, of course. Then again, my memory is kind of fuzzy and I don't remember how heavy a wetter Kaya was as a newborn. ;)

And may I just say that we have some Liza-made doublers for G, and they are working out splendidly. :)

ETA: Oh, we also like sugarpeas doublers.

Ooh, I should double that rec, since I love her doublers. They're supposed to be doublers for my K0s, but I've been using them as Mamacloth as well. ;)
