I just read linsei's post about FB's and thought I would jump in too with a similar issue. Thanks to the Great Cloth Diaper Hunt, I purchased my very first FB's - I've always been a sposie night person but have had HORRIFIC leaks every night with Baby Dry from Pampers. I've gone through everything trying to make them more absorbant but have given up. If I'm stuffing a plastic diaper with cloth to make it more absorbant, then I should just skip the plastic all together.

Anyway, my two large FB's are on the way. What should I use for inserts for a heavy all-in-the-front wetter? Can I just use the microfiber cloths from the dept. store auto section? I use those now as doublers and absorbant pads in my homemade guys.

I love my hemp trifolds. To be completely honest, I'm not sure if they are still made anymore, but they are all I use. My very best ones are from Mom-&-Me Creations. They are terry hemp and good size. I have about 6 and use them every night. I personally like hemp over the microfiber because my kids tend to pee all at once, so I need something that absorbs quickly. For us, the microfiber works decently, but not always. I have never tried to use the microfiber for night-time, but that would be my concern. Good luck!

I use 2 joey bunz and have never had a leak. I was having leaks like crazy in everthing else--CPF with doublers, sposies etc...DS wets all upfront too. They have lasted through those very rare 13+ hour nights. HTH

At your DD's age, we could get through the night with two JBs, but those days ended and we needed 3 JBs. Our last nighttime solution was a hemp prefold tri-folded, plus a large JB. The prefolds were from Little Lounge (Lounging?) Lizards, who may or may not still be in business!

I haven't used FBs for night, but I do use an Apronstrings fleece pocket for nights. I stuff it with a large MF towel (Zannadu, probably worth the absorbency of 2.5-3 of the ones from target) + a Lizajane night insert (hemp). I find the combo of hemp and MF to do better than either alone. And yes, my DD is a heavy, mostly in front wetter (she drinks water in her crib).

Thanks everybody! While I'm shopping around I'll keep an eye out for deals on hemp inserts and JB's.
