For anyone who uses BumWare diapers, I have a question for you. I have two AIOs (one true AIO and one with sewn-in QD) and love love love them both. (Did I mention that I love them?) My ONLY hang-up with them is that the laundry tabs (for the velcro) seem to be too small. The tabs constantly come undone. I tried sewing some extra velcro (loop part) onto the diaper so there would be more to grip, but they still pull away some--probably because they've been doing it for long and now the tabs curl up when they're put onto the laundry tabs or on the front (as in when ds is wearing them). I really love the fit, no leaks, etc. but they are starting to ruin my other diapers (my Very Babys for example) because they get all caught up on them in the wash/dryer. The tabs have also really pulled the PUL on the BumWare, too, where they get loose and stick all over. (Yes, there is a question coming...)

Does anyone else have weird problems with their laundry tabs on their BumWare diapers?

I bought my gently used, so I didn't get them new and wondered if it was just some weird fluke with the two I have. I e-mailed Izabella and asked if there was some way it could be fixed, and while she was nice, she basically just said that a) that's what Aplix/velcro did and if I didn't like it I should get snaps (but NONE of my other diapers do this) and b)there was nothing she could do to fix it.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I have to say that my Bum-ware tabs come loose in the laundry a lot as well. They definitely curl up on the ends which means less surface area to stick. I haven't had issues with my tabs curling up while DS is wearing them, though. The Aplix is a different type than the type on my VBs, maybe it's more prone to curling up? I am VERY careful to get the tabs stuck down as much as possible when I put them in the washer (and recheck before putting them in the dryer) and that seems to help a little.

I'm sorry Izabella wasn't more helpful. I don't really have any good suggestions for you!

Thanks...I think I just wanted to know that it wasn't just mine! :) Like I said, I really like them, but I don't want to keep using them if they're just going to start ruining my other dipes, you know?

The thing about CDs is that there's always a better solution around the corner. ;) That's the fun of the diaper hunt! I'm very satisfied with my current stash and will probably not get any more unless I see that rare "must-have" item. :)

one suggestion for the velcro tabs...rather then using the fold back laundry tabs, velcro the diaper closed inside out and then throw it in the washer. That way the velcro has more to adhere to and it might help with the tabs from uncurling etc and ruining your other diapers. I do this with the one diaper I made that I was too lazy to add laundry tabs too and it stays closed no problem! The only other suggestion I have is try putting different velcro/applix on it. If they are still in good condition it might save the life of the diaper. www.diapershop.com has it really cheap (like less then $.50 a yard?) I get the colored aplix and that stuff is STRONG! Good luck...I hate diaper snakes and nasty velcro nubbies!
