When washing printed and dark dipes, is it ok to launder them mixed in with the white liners? I have the mindset of "do not mix colors with whites when laundering"! :) I am just needing peace of mind that the dark/prints won't bleed etc. When you spend $$ on dipes you want them to look great for a while. TIA!

I always wash everything together and I've never had a problem. It would just be way too much work to separate everything.

For the ones with deep colors, the first time around I soak them in a hot vinegar solution for at least an hour and then wash. That gets rid of most of the dye and sets the rest. Then after that, I don't worry about it--it's too much to worry about when you have to do laundry so often anyway.

Hi Eileen, this is a bump of an old post you made. I hoped you might give the mix on the hot vinegar solution you use. I have a bright red printed pocket that just arrived (hurray!) and I wanted to be sure the color set in.

Thanks!

Ha, ha, the right "mix"? I actually just fill a sink with hot water and then add maybe half a cup to a cup of vinegar depending on how many diapers I have in there. I've never really measured, though. I don't think you can overdo it--it just means you have to rinse them out enough and then launder as usual.
