How many do you all find that you need? Mari really prefers wearing them instead of being nakey sometimes. She is pushing us to let her wear panties more and more now.

She even took a walk and a trip to the store in the car with them on. *sob* She's growing up! But, then she came home, sat on the potty, decided she didn't have to go, and then peed in her panties a short while later. LOL So, not growing up *too* fast at least! :P

10 was a good number for my DS. However I used the laundromat at the time. You could get away with fewer if you do laundry frequently.

We actually just went straight to underpants, but my DS was closer to three when he PT'd.

i am wondering this, too. dylan has started to use the potty and told me today (for the VERY FIRST TIME!!!) that he needed to use the potty. usually, i just take him or i ask him and he nods or says no. but today, he tried to take his diaper off himself (a snap ez so he couldn't do the snaps) and when i asked, "do you need to go pee pee?" he patted his diaper and said, "GO!"

i am in major stash reduction mode and i was thinking of replacing a few things with training pants...

I just got a package from Snap E-Z of 2 cotton trainers, 2 AIO trainers and 1 pocket trainer. I still use regular dipes for nighttime and naps as I don't think the pocket would hold much and I'm just not a fan of pockets. And unless we are going somewhere where I absolutely do want him to pee on the floor, he just wears regular underwear. So that said, these 5 are enough for us. Plus, I'm already doing diaper wash every other day (some time every 2-3 days, depends how lazy I'm feeling) so the trainers get washed along with the dipes pretty often.

Hmm...we've been using Bright Bots, which are similar to Gerber training underwear, but they do have a waterproof layer. It's enough to catch Kaya's occasional dribbles when she waits too long to go. We probably have ... 8-10 of them? But we're basically using them (and the three backup Gerbers) as underwear. I keep 3 in her diaper bag, but they're rarely used, and about 6-8 are in daily rotation. We actually have more than enough, but Kaya picked up pretty quickly, having started later than Mari.

And by the way, I remember reading that you were having trouble finding Mari some outfits for the fall? Kaya, at 2.5, can now fit some of her 18 month clothing because she's no longer wearing diapers during the day!

I bought 9 pair (3 packs of 3) of the Gerber cotton training pants for dd1, of which 1 or 2 stay in the diaper bag. She caught on quickly to peeing in the potty at 33 months, so that number worked well for us. However, nighttime pting and pooping in a diaper are still in the picture.

Eileen...where do you order the Bright Bots? Are they easy to pull up and down like the Gerbers? DS has a hard time with regular Gap underwear because the elastic band makes them hard to pull up and down easily.

I get them from theecstore.com. I believe she is having a sale until today...oops, I thought it was tomorrow:

Here's the message:

Sale! 15% off storewide from September 22nd through Thursday September 28th. I will not be shipping during this time, and will begin shipping again Friday September 29th. Coupon code: sep2006

If you happen to read this tonight.

Anyway, they are very easy for Kaya to pull up and down, similar to the Gerbers.

Eileen, what size you you have for Kaya? I was just looking at these earlier today. I need waterproof trainers for Amelia for daycare and I would love to get in on this sale.

Kaya wears both L and XL. She can still fit in her mediums, but they're definitely on the snug side. From what I recall, I imagine Amelia would be in a similar size. I think I got the XL the last time I placed an order because I basically want Kaya to wear these as underwear until she outgrows them.

Thanks. I was leaning towards the XL for the same reason. Plus, Amelia likes them to be on the bigger side because they are easier to pull up and down.

ETA: Oh my goodness, I was just looking at these either yesterday or this morning and there were plenty of choices. Tonight almost everything was sold out. I was able to get two purple and two pink XLs. All other large and XL colors were sold out. Thanks for the coupon code.

Okay, I think I need more. We are using Hanna trainers because I wanted something that looked nothing like a diaper because a certain someone is very offended if she has to wear anything remotely resembling one while at home. I think I need them instead of regular panties for a while longer because she freaks if she does not like pee trickling down her leg!

I also didn't want PUL, fleece, snaps, and a whole other list of requirements that it seemed that no WAHMs had created. Anyway, we only have 6 pairs. So, I think I'll get one more set of 3.

Eileen, Mari fits in pretty much any clothes even with her diapers...fit wasn't the issue, it was mama's taste that was the issue! :P I wasn't happy with any of the choices, but some new stuff has come out so she will not be naked. ;)
