DD was pretty regular with her BM's while on baby food but all of that changed a couple of months ago when she transitioned to 3 meals of table food and snacks. Since then, we have been struggling to keep her regular and have not succeeded. I would be ok with this new pattern if her butt wouldn't be burning/bleeding on the days she goes since she ends up going so much! We are doing naked time (min. of 30 minutes a day), baking soda in her bath, triple paste and lotrimin. She seems to get much better on the days she doesn't have a BM and then it starts all over again. This is all on top of the fact that she just cut 4 teeth on the same weekend (and her mood was great the whole time-what a great littl girl!) so I am guessing the rash is also related to that.
She will drink diluted prune juice with no problem but doesn't take much from a sippy so we put it in the bottle with dinner on occasion. We give her regular servings of apricots, peaches, pears and prunes to keep her stools soft and they are soft, just HUGE now since she waits for few days.
How can we help her? Her poor little bottom is so red and irritated.
