Keeping AIO's soft

I have a few AIO's with internal or sewn-in soakers. I got them off swap and they were super soft when we got them. I have washed them and then line-dried them as they are PUL but they just aren't soft anymore. The sewn-in soaker feels "crunchy".
What can I do to make them soft? I don't even want to put them on Benjamin like this :(

Have you tried putting them in the dryer on "air fluff" for 10 minutes? We had to do that with line dried dipes to soften them up. hth!

I always have to fluff our AIO (and a couple of our laminate pockets) in the dryer to make them wearable. I just throw them in the dryer on the low setting with a load of the kids' clothes, which don't have fabric softener or anyhting on them.
