We just bought a Baby Bjorn potty after many recommendations from people - it is pretty simple, sturdy and easy to clean. You can get it for around $19-25 at most places (Target, Babycenter.com etc).

I recommend the flip & flush, it's a child size seat that attaches to your regular toilet. My daughter won't use a pretend potty because she has to be just like us. I bought ours on ebay for $10.
