Thanks so much for the well wishes - we are surviving being home but we had a first diaper blowout this morning which meant frantic baby sponge bathing, outfit changing and rinsing out! Wow, the things you are not prepared for!

Got to go - dd needs a feeding!

Wow, that's so neat - many people have told us that Kayley was a pretty and unusual name but must not be that unusual! Congrats to you as well - looks like our babies go to the same beauty salon!

Oh my gosh, look at that hair and those cheeks! Adorable! Thanks for sharing. It sounds like you had quite the labor/delivery. Glad you're home safe and well, and with such a cutie to boot!

Wishing you the rest/recovery you deserve. Enjoy the moments (hours!) of just staring at your little miracle. The time goes by soooooo fast.

congratulations! wow, those birthing *surprises*. TWO epidurals? i curtsey to your strength and bravery! i predict we both spend the next weeks not sleeping when we should, and instead examining little toes and fingers and that little divot under the lower lip and that little nook under the nose, and, and.... over and over and over

cute cute cute...thanks for sharing sounds similar to my labor except for the c section i think i got so scared of it after 18 hrs of being in 3 with no epidural(they give it at 4 here)i went from a 3 to fully dialated in less than 2 min.......but way to go i admire your strenght and look at the little cutie pie you have to show for it .Congratulations....!!

Congrats--such a perfect little sweetheart. Sounds like the birth was...a little unpredictable. But aren't they all?

Enjoy her, as I'm sure you will.

Hello all - just wanted you to know that my dh and I had our baby girl on April 28th at 9:19 pm - it's a long story that I will share later but she came by c-section after an induced 12 hour labor did not work - so many stories on that front! But in the meantime, we just got back today from the hospital and wanted to show her off. Her name is Kayley and she was born 8lbs, 20 inches! We are so happy and I think I have to sign off now before my Percocet really kicks in! More later!

Hi again - resending jpeg versions of original photos - I uploaded wrong!

We had an interesting birth experience - last Sunday April 27 I noticed some blood and that the baby had not been as active that day so we went to the hospital to be monitored. Since we had been at the hospital for a false alarm before, I kept expecting to be sent home but to our surprise, they kept us overnight and told us we were going to be induced on Monday am (as my ob put it, I am a mother of *cough* advanced *cough* age and the baby was fully baked at that point). So on to the pitocin and breaking of waters - I spent 12 hours in labor, endured the shakes (no one ever tells you about that!), 2 epidurals (first one didn't work!!!), and non-functioning a/c in my room and got to 9.5 cm dilated but alas, no more - baby was too far wedged in my pelvis to come out on her own. Turns out I would have had a c-section anyway just because of her positioning. Anyways, she came out eventually all safe and sound on Monday night and I am recovering pretty well. Just so glad to have a happy and healthy baby! I just can't believe this all happened a week ago - seems like months!
