Congratulations to you! What an alert, cutie pie Benjamin is! And such a great Father's Day present too!

Hey, if you find out the secret to avoiding the projectile poop, make sure you let us know too :)!

Congratulations! Our sons have the same birthday! I agree, excellent Father's Day gift. I also had a pretty good labour, very happy about that.

Try putting a little washcloth over his privates, that's helped me a couple of times.

Welcome Benjamin!! He's beautiful, and so alert!!!

We always managed to get sprayed too. :) It's slowed down a lot in recent months. We just covered up his wee bits with a washcloth. I don't have any idea about what to do with the poop.

Congratulations! :)

Congratulations Carolee! Benjamin is just beautiful.

Are those professional photos or did you do them yourself? They are GREAT shots!

Looking forward to seeing you here again once you have settled in with your little one :)

Congratulations Carolee. Benjamin is a handsome little baby.

Good luck with the diaper changes. Even Martie has managed to poo on her daddy.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to announce the birth of our little one, Benjamin Michael. He was born two days early on June 14, 2003, just in time for Father's Day. He weighed 8 lbs, 15 oz and was 22 inches long. I've attached a couple of pictures taken when he was 3 days old.

I had a pretty speedy labor and birth. Regular contractions started at 11PM on Friday evening, and we left for the hospital 2 and a half hours later. When my midwife checked me at 2:30AM, I was between 4-5 cm and fully effaced. She broke my bag of water when I was 5 cm at 3AM (there was meconium :( ) and the contractions came right on top of each other after that. I was fully dilated by 6AM. I was really hoping for a natural childbirth, but needed a small dose of Stadol to take the edge off the pain. I did avoid an epidural, though!

After a brief scare with baby's heartbeat while beginning to push (a backup OB had to adjust his head position and that fixed the problem, thank goodness), Ben was born after an hour of pushing, at 7:34 AM. I as unable to hold him immediately after the birth due to the meconium, but he recieved apgars of 9 and 9 and is doing great.

We are breastfeeding and it is going well! I am so thankful for all the tips I've received on this board about baby care! Now I just need to find that thread about how to change their diaper without having them pee and poop all over everything...that has happened to us more than I care to admit! :)
