I can't believe I've been using the Baby Bargains Boards for almost 2 years now (I lurked for a few months before getting an account) and haven't yet introduced ourselves!!!

I'm a BFing SAHM to Karenna Jean (http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~kct/karenna.html), now almost 15 months old. We live in Pittsburgh, PA temporarily while my DH, Kevyn, is going to graduate school at Carnegie-Mellon (my old Alma Mater :)) Once he finishes (or at least gets to the dissertation-writing stage) in another year or so, we hope to go back to Seattle, WA where our friends, family and home is!

I must say that although I found the advice here on all kinds of baby gear ESSENTIAL during my pregnancy and Karenna's first year, it seems as though I've come to rely more and more on these boards for non-material items such as laughter and sharing and support! I hope to become more visible in the future and get to know many of you better. I have great wishes for the Toddler Bargains boards to become a HOT SPOT too!! :7

Alice, you're just an old friend here! Glad to hear more about you and glad you've been here all along (longer than me even)!

A big hello to another temporarily displaced Seattle-ite (well, bellevue for me). I'm in grad school now & now dh is applying. Someday too I hope to make it back home. Having a baby so far away from a support network is hard at times...that's one reason I'm addicted to these boards!

Your baby is beautiful & i love her name.

WOW!!! Where are you now?? You are SOOO right about using boards like these as a substitute for friends/family when away from "home". I hope you're finding some friends locally too! :)

I'm in Santa Barbara, CA, now. We do have friends, but all are single & childless except one couple who have a baby, so it's hard. for some reason all our friends w/ kids are in seattle!
