Hi, I'm Kirsten. I got married October 11 and now I'm 13 weeks pregnant with our first child. I started feeling sick on the Honeymoon and sure enough, when I took a pregnancy test upon returning to the States, it was positive. It's much sooner than we'd planned, but we're up for it . . . I think. (nervous laughter)
I've been lurking here ever since we found out, and I think you ladies are great. I've already learned so much about parenting and baby life just from reading all of your posts! Not to mention how much I'm learning about baby STUFF -- I have the Fields' book and love it, but this board is an amazing resource, too!
We're hoping for a girl, but of course, we'll be happy with a healthy, happy baby of either sex. If it's a girl, we plan to name her Elise Renee, and if it's a boy, we keep going back and forth between Nicholas Martin and Ian Martin. Please don't steal "Elise," okay? ;) Like every couple new to parenting, we're hoping that we've chosen the perfect name that's neither too trendy nor too antiquated. And NOT TOO COMMON! I hate to even post it anywhere, but since we're not telling anyone IRL and everyone keeps asking us anyway, I feel like I'm going to explode!
Anyway, we live in the DC area. I'm in my 20s and my wonderful husband is in his 30s. It's the first marriage and first baby for both of us. We're really excited, and I'm excited about joining this community of moms!
