Ian is here!

He's here! Ian Martin arrived at 10:03 Monday evening (June 14) weighing in at 7 lbs., 4 oz. and measuring 19 3/4 inches long. He's so wonderful -- we're so blessed. It was a tough labor, though -- 24 hours from the time the contractions got really bad and we started timing them to the time he was delivered (via unplanned c-section). I pushed for three and a half hours (after 20 hours of mostly unmedicated back labor -- OUCH!) and he never budged! I guess he liked it in there! I must say, recovery from a long labor AND surgery is no fun, but I am so happy to have Ian in my arms that it is all worth it. :)

He is doing really well -- he nurses like a champ (loooooves to eat) and has already nearly regained his birthweight. I can't believe how beautiful he is -- we think he's absolutely perfect. I'm attaching some pics -- I know you'll all agree that I'm not just biased . . . Ian IS just the cutest little thing! :D

Your delivery was very similar to mine...16 hours of pitocin-induced labor, 2 hours pushing, then a c/s.
