View Full Version : Who said you can't get pg while breastfeeding?!

I took an hpt on Sat night and it was positive!!!!

I was not totally stunned since we haven't been using birth control, BUT, considering my history (PCOS, Endo, slight MF), well, you know, PLUS considering the timing, and the fact that I'm breastfeeding, I mean it is a bit nuts!!!!!

Dh and I were just kind of giggling and scared at the same time. I went in this week and here is the current update on my stats...

hcg= 6,145
progesterone= 10.94
u/s= showed 4w5d gestational sac (I have no clue when I o'd)

Part of me is very scared that I will miscarry (I m/c'd right before getting pg with John Patrick), especially with that sort of lowish prog. level, but on the other hand I have not spotted or cramped at all so I'm feeling hopeful!

I spoke to my old RE today and he said that 10.94 is a normal level for a spontaneous pg and not to bother with progesterone supps. My reg. gyno/ob said it's normal also, so I think I'm going to skip the prog. supps and hope that what's meant to be will be.

I go back in tomorrow for the second beta test and this will really tell me a lot. So I could definitely use some doubling beta vibes!

Whodda thunk it?! I hope I am beginning a wave of miracle surprise pg's for the previously IF girls!

THANKS!!!!

P.S.
The reason I didn't want to tell this news right away is because we won't tell anyone in real life till after the first trimester and I think people in real life may know about my board life! But I said to heck with it! I couldn't keep it in.

Fingers are crossed that this one is a keeper!

Congrats Bonnie. That whole bf thing is a bunch of you-know-what since I got pregnant while nursing Ryan 8 times a day too!

I am thrilled for you guys and it will be so nice for John Patrick to have a playmate so close in age. :)

You all are so sweet to be so happy for me, thank you so much for all the congrats and good wishes! I am thrilled to be able to report that my second beta came back at 13,761!!! That means it's doubling approximately every 41 hours (they look for doubling every 48 hours or so), so this is awesome! This little one appears to be a keeper! I'm feeling very overjoyed and excited :-)
