Another Newbie!

Hello Everyone:

My name is Michele and I am a first time mom to an irresistable 9 month old son, Gavin. I'm a working mom and about to become "the breadwinner" in my household. Due to a recent promotion for me, we now have the means for my husband to leave his job, return to school, and become a SAHD. We are terrified to take the plunge, but I'm so happy my two guys will be able to spend their days together.

I have been lurking around the site for a few months now, and have gained much insight from all your wisdom and many laughs from your humor! I hope I can offer good support and advice in return!

I hope to hear from all moms, but I am especially looking for support from any moms in my situation (working mom/SAHD) and finding out how you've dealt with the ups and downs of the whole thing!

Welcome, Michele! Congrats on your promotion, and for you and DH to take the plunge into single-incomehood! Joey (peanut4us, I think), mom to Sara, is a working mom with a SAHD. She would be a great person to talk to. Welcome!!

We live in Simsbury, CT, so we're about to hit the most beautiful time of year up here. I can't wait to go apple and pumpkin picking this weekend!

Has your husband stayed home with William since birth, or did he start later? Is he part of any online group for SAHDs? My DH is looking forward to it, but I worry that he might get overwhelmed at first....

He's been home with DS since 12 weeks, when I went back to work. Nope, he's not part of any online SAHD groups.

I also am looking forward to apple/pumpkin picking one of these weekends..the weather has been so perfect lately for just that!
