Hello All,

Just took a positive pregnancy test. Did not get married until I was 40, had first son last Nov, now 5 1/2 months and found out today I am expecting late Dec at age 42. This was planned but I was not prepared for how overwhelmed I feel just now. Any thoughts appreciated.

Congratulations! Congratulations! I hope you have a smooth, uneventful pregnancy and are able to get a little sleep at least before having another newborn! We are just starting to get over sleep deprivation and our little guy is 13 months. Good luck!

Thank you everyone, Mamaturk I love the name Reilly and would have used it on my son if I hadn't used my two best names, Sophie and Reilly on my dogs as I never thought I would get married and have kids!!

Susan-First of all a huge congratulations to you!!! I got married at 39 had Jack just 5 weeks before my 40th. Am now OVERDUE with #2 having just turned 42 last week. It isn't easy but you can do it. Thanks for joining me in the 40+ moms group. Hang in there. Get lots of sleep, take your vitamins, exercise if you can and don't be too hard on yourself. It is definately hard at our age, but definately doable. Ask me again in a week or two.....

I'm late to this but wanted to tell you....my MIL is a maternity ward nurse & was telling me that a couple months ago they had a 54 year old give birth & she was already the mother of a toddler! She says they see so many women well into their 40's these days. Hey, women are superheros, 42 is nothing. ;) You're only as old as you feel. Our bodies may slow down a bit but our kids keep us young! Congratulations & good luck to you!
