Elena Raquel was born at 10:12 p.m. on Friday, February 24. She weighed 7 lbs, 12 ounces at birth and was 19.5 inches long.
I found labor and delivery to be far easier than I anticipated... after I had the epidural. I started out without any pain medication, but gave in after only 2.5 hours of contractions. For me, the epidural was a good decision. I was so much more comfortable and was able to enjoy the experience. Elena was born after 5 hours of contractions and 2 hours of pushing.
She's a very healthy baby. She has gained almost a full pound in the last two weeks. She loves to nurse!
She's a cuddler and will protest when she's put down... it's sweet during the day, but it can be rough at 3 a.m. It's amazing how little sleep one actually needs to function.
