carrier search...snowboarding

I'm just starting my search for a framed carrier. It seems like most the people are into the tough traveler and the Macpac's. I would like to think I would go on day hikes, but more realisticly I just need something I can put my 7 month (20lb) baby in while I do house work and weed in the yard. I used my Babybjorn backwords the other weekend and she seemed to like it. But I cant do it by myself. Thus the idea of getting a carrier.
Another question I have is if anyone has taken their baby skiing/snowboarding in a carrier and if so what one and how did it work out?

There is a stroller/trailer that you can cross country ski with... but I can't imagine downhill skiinng or snowboarding. That just sounds dangerous. Check www.babyoutfitters.com I think it is called the Chariot or the couger.
