I am trying out a bjorn carrier. I have an 8 lb.+, 4 week old. I followed the instructions, and it seems to be adjusted correctly, but I worry about my baby being able to breath okay as her forehead and nose seem to slump against my chest. (Even though she seems fine, no crying, etc., and I can hear her breathing.) Also, her general neck and back posture seem to be "slumpy" as well. Is this normal?

Yes, I believe that it is (couldn't imagine how it wouldn't be normal). Newborns are just too floppy and tiny to be in that position, IMO. One of the reasons that I much prefer a sling!

yes it is normal for a newborn to be like that, however it is not a natural position for them. That is why I prefer a sling to a Bjorn, the sling holds the baby in a more natural position without the slumping neck/head and without all that weight on their pelvis and spine.
