decided i wanted something fancy for my Kozy so looking at:

http://tinyurl.com/26abs with black
or
http://tinyurl.com/27mga probably also with black
or
http://tinyurl.com/2pu9n with natural

The first one I can probably get from my MIL (works at Hancock's of Paducah) though right now their website doesn't show them having it in black.

What do you think?
This is a bit different for me -- I always go for solids or very plain prints, but I felt like I wanted something fun this time.

Shannon, I really like the first one. It would look really great with black canvas. The others seem a little too babyish for an adult accessory, which is how I view baby slings! They are cute, though.

I really like the third one, but the first one is the least child-like. I think they would all look great. Sorry, I guess that's not much help is it? :)

Dang.!@#!@# Typed a long reply and it dissappeared!!
Anyway... let me retype.
Shannon, I like the third one best. I was going to get that on my Ella Bag because it would match with denim and khakis and reds, which is pretty much what i wear all summer long.
However, i just wanted to point out, i was reading some fashion mag yesterday and they were saying that Toile is very Yesterday... not sure if you care, but just thought i should mention it!

Here is another site where i got my fabric for a shopping cart cover.

Let us know what you decide!!

Uh, oh, don't want to be a fashion victim! Can you see why I stick to solids!?!?!

So what's in now? I'll have to go browse my MIL's website.

I'm kind of torn between wanting it to look a little babyish (or at least not unbabyish) and wanting it to look cute for me. I bought the Nicole Miller diaper bag with the mixed drinks pattern, but I wouldn't use a fabric like that for a carrier. Carriers to me are where mama accessories and baby accessories merge. Which, of course, makes it even harder to find the right fabric.

Ugh! I'm going to lose my spot. I should have thought of all this earlier!

Not sure what is IN now...they only mentioned the DON'Ts.

If your summer wardrobe is mostly solids then you should be fine with a pattern, otherwise you might want to get something simpler? Just a thought.

I like the first one. It is very classic and will match most everything without clashing. :)

I ended up going with Kelley's new "grant" fabric she has up on her site. I couldn't find anything heavy enough to be used with her design.

After perusing the fabrics on the link Rashmi included (thanks! man I wish I could sew), I realized that I'm a person of extremes. So, if I am going to get a print, I should get a print... It's worked with the sushi print cart cover.

So, what do you think about this?

with the black canvas?

Very cute!!
Here is the print (incase that website took forever to load like it did for me!).

Shannon, does the WEIGHT of the fabric matter? I ask because it said next to this fabric:

"Fun and funky barkcloth print by Michael Miller. Medium weight barkcloth is perfect for light upholstery and handbags."

PS: I was thinking of SUSHI for my cart cover too!

I'm wondering. I emailed Kelley to ask her. I searched on the site for upholstery and came up with this and 4 other prints. She had told me (just for everyone else's use) that she would need about a 25x30 piece of fabric (more if it needed to be centered or had a pattern direction) of bottomweight type woven fabric, preferably 100% cotton, strong enough for upholstery. I couldn't find anything when searching for bottomweight so I don't know if this one fits the criteria.

I love love the sushi cart cover. I get comments on it all the time.

Thanks for the website rec! I'm going to have to get my MIL to make us a quilt -- I'd love one with all "how to get a man" and "good housekeeping" retro prints! BTW, was tempted by the dysfunctional family comic strip pattern -- oh, the irony!

I think that would look awesome with black canvas.

Would your DH wear it, if the Kozy is to be shared with him? My DH wouldn't touch anything made with that fabric. He would even hate to carry it rolled up in a ball.

DH is unlikely to wear it. Period. He'll do the Bjorn though.
I'll probably get the reversible so that I might be able to convince him to wear it with the print side in.

What is it about men and prints?

in typical fashion, i poked around a little more and picked a completely different fabric:

kind of quirky but i like it.
thanks for all the opinions.

now, off to order (and thinking about a hotsling now too!)
