Hi! I just joined BBB and am happy to be here! I have been a
babywearing Mama, since my now 5 year old was a baby. I am currently
wearing (literally, she is nursing in the Maya, LOL) my 6 week old
Trinity Elise....my now 3 year old daughter, Sylver, was worn in the
same Maya I am currently wearing (red stripe, and I also have the
blue and white one for wash day). When Sylver was a baby, I had a
total of 5 Maya's...I didn't even realize there where other types of
slings out there until just now! I am wanting to treat myself to a
new (pretty!) sling. I am leaning towards the Zolo slings, but wanted
to see if there are other options out there. I want the same 'style'
wrap as the Maya, just prettier (and warmer...starting to get chilly
here in Philly!).
Thanks for having me and any help/opinions you can offer!
Jennie

Wow! Awesome to be wearing all of your babes like that, I'm really impressed :)

Besides Zolo, Rev Jan makes silk slings as well-- I think you have to send in your fabric to her. Heard great things about them (her shoulder design is supposed ot be super comfy), but I haven't tried them so I don't know :)

Here's a link to her custom sling page:
http://www.sleepingbaby.net/sling_custom.html

She also has malden mills fleece slings listed on her site; *those* would be toasty! :)

Good luck on your search; I don't know a lot about ring slings, but you could also as over @ www.thebabywearer.com -- they have a whole forum dedicated to finding the perfect sling :)

Also Lisa at Sachicarriers.com makes silk brocade slings and I also just ordered a silk sling from oopababy.com. These are gorgeous but a little thinner/lighter for those of us in hot year-round climates. HTH!

Rikkele-Thanks for the information! After researching a bit I did decide to go with Lisa. I am ordering a custom silk sling and a Mai Tai from her. I also e-mailed Oopa Baby about a silk from her...:)
I will let you know how I make out with everything!
