Anyone have this sling or the new ring wrap?? Would you reccomend either of these for a beginning sling user? I have a pouch but am considering a sling or wrap for my 7 week old.

TIA!

The Rev Jan ring sling is very nice, and affordable. I got one when DS was about a month old, but never really figured it out at that time. I was intimidated by the rings! Now, I cand work a ring sling just fine. I don't know about the ring-wrap, but I like the Moby wrap, which is a similar design, with more fabric and no rings.

I have a Rev. Jan ring sling, and the workmomship is excellent, but to be honest, I'm just not into all that fabric that makes the tail (however, it's the first one I grab if I need to protect DD from rain or wind). If you want a ring sling that's similar to a pouch, try a Wise Woman sling.....it's kind of a combo between the two. I have a water mesh one for showering and I love it; it's very comfortable.

I have an Ellaroo, and if I could only pick one carrier to have from birth to toddlerhood, I'd get a wrap in a nanosecond. It's not the quickest to put on, but it's the one that I feel is the most comfortable and secure out of any carrier I've tried, and it's incredibly versatile.

Good luck in your experimentation!

That is the most gorgeous sling I've ever seen!! You've inspired me to order one for the new baby - now I'm scouring ebay and fabric stores to find a silk print I like enough to pair it with a solid. I'd have never thought of that design, either, with the 2 fabrics. Nice job picking those out!

Hello-- I had the ring wrap and I sold it a couple of weeks ago. I had for a couple of months and it was great! It was very well made! The reason why I sold it was because I use stretchy wraps with DS. And I wanted someone to get use out of it! The person I sold it to uses it all the time! The RW is what gave me the confidence to use the stretchy wraps. It is great--it turns into a ring sling in a snap--literally! I do own 1 Rev. Jan sling that I use all the time! But I am having a custom Sling made--it is going to be beautiful! I can't wait! Rev Jan slings are very comfortable and cup the shoulder nicely. And her prices are awesome and her workmomship rocks!!!! It is a great sling for a beginner!

Lynne,
It was inspired by the ooopababy.com slings. I had fallen in love with the kiwi one but wasnt sure about the price. The co-op did happen so I bought the kiwi but in the meantime someone had suggested Reverend Jan and I fell in love with that fabric on ebay. So I ended up with 2 (well actually 3 silk slings but I am selling one) Look under charmeuse on ebay.
How are you feeling?

I haven't been on this board much, so I'll have to check out the ooopababy ones. I know what you mean about that floral fabric - it's gorgeous! Do you remember which seller it was? I may go hunt around the fabric stores here too.

I'm feeling pretty good so far thanks for asking :) Nausea is getting more manageable, too! My second appt is this Fri, so hopefully all will be well! I tell you though, EVERY time I feel a cramp or funny tummy sensation I get really nervous! How are YOU! Hope things have gotten better and you're not on complete bedrest anymore.

If you type in charmeuse you will find others on ebay.

This is where I got the duiponi from

I am still on modified bed rest and slowly losing my mind. 31 weeks so the end is in site:)

Thanks hon! I did a quick search on e-bay yesterday and wasn't finding any silk prints - I like the idea you did with pairing a print with a solid. Is the solid just at the bottom, or is the entire length lined with it?

Glad to hear you're still doing well. I can't believe it's 31 weeks already! If your doc is anything like mine, they'll probably let you totally "free" in about 4-5 weeks then? Awesome :)
