I must confess I only used this sling when Erik was a tiny infant and neatly fit into the pouch. I feel so insecure and cumbersome with it now that he is bigger (i.e I feel like it'll take me forever and cause him frustration to get the right position before we go anywhere), so I've reluctantly given up.

But more and more, I see myself carrying him on my hip instead of the stroller(he sort of straddles my hip/waist on the side, I only use one hand around his waist...I love carrying him this way, so the sling should help, right??

How do I make it work?? Tarah?? Anyone??

THANKS!

The hip carry with a pouch is how I started slinging DD and I used it with her until she was nearly 3.

If you go here, there's a video of doing the hip carry with a 15+ month old: http://www.zolowear.com/Wearing.aspx

And there are instructions here too: http://www.hotslings.com/pages/WearingInstructions.php

check out this site

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/hotslings/

there are several mommies who use their hotslings for hip carryy on that site. i'm sure they could give you some pointers.
