I am looking for a carrier for my 7mo old daughter (almost 18lbs) and I was trying to decide between the Sutemi and the Ergo.
I like that you can wear your baby on the hip with the Sutemi, and I am not sure if you can do this with the Ergo. Does anybody know?

On the other hand, I have a sizing problem with the Sutemi. I am 5'3" and my DH is 6'2", so I think I have to order the long straps, but I don't know if that could work for me.
Does anybody have the Sutemi and is in my same situation?

Which one do you prefer?

Thanks, Paula.

Hi, Paula.

I have a Sutemi and love it. I am 5'1 or 2 and my husband is 6'4". We have the XL straps and it is not a problem for me. They get really long when I adjust it, but I just tuck the extra strap length into the side of the carrier or my pocket.

Not sure about the hip carry with the Ergo.

I don't have a Sutemi. I only have an Ergo and use it for my 6 month old.

You cannot do a hip carry in the newer Ergos. You can do a hip carry in the older version Ergo where the shoulder straps can be unbuckled.

I've heard that the Sutemi is better for front carries, but most women don't like it for back carries because they don't care for the way it made their breasts look.

The Ergo is more comfortable in a back carry than a front carry, but it works.

Good luck in making your decision!
