I'm getting a sling made, but I'm a bit lost as to which fabric to use and where to find it. I'd love an Asian-like silk-like style.
TIA!

Here's a thread on TBW discussing this exact subject:

Thank you, but it won't let me read it! Can you give me the cliff notes?

Hmm, that's weird! It's a pretty long thread that I didn't read most of - probably your best bet is to go to www.thebabywearer.com, click on "forum/chat" at the top of the page, then click on "choosing a babycarrier" and the discussion is about halfway down the page. HTH!

Register! You'll get put in a drawing for a new sling. :)
They really do have an amazing amount of helpful info on this site.

Thank you ladies. I did join up and there are two fabulous threads on there about just this topic. I think I've narrowed it down to this with a gold dupioni (sp?) reverse, theoretically to match the vines:

I will also have at least one hemp Mom & Me Pouch for when I'm feeling less flashy. LOL. I love this fabric, but it is a bit "look at me!" for how I usually dress.
...hmm...maybe I should ask to get a more practical cotton (twill?) too. LOL.
ETA: It's a silk blend.
