When DS is in the mei tai, he likes to put his arms over the shoulder straps - essentially the shoulder straps are now under his armpits. I like to tie the straps under his legs/bum. Is it safe for him to have his arms out and the straps under his legs?

I think that it is fine. I used to carry Colin with his arms free as a toddler; I can't imagine carrying a toddler with the arms under the shoulder straps? You can still tie the straps underneath his bottom.

Thanks Lori. I wasn't sure as sometime DS will arch backwards. He isn't about to fall out, but I will keep a hold of him when he does this.

That is fine but I like to put the straps over his legs when DS is in his Jadatai.
