I am thinking about trying a Lucky Baby as my first pouch. I e-mailed Candice because I was concerned about the sizing. I measured 26", which is a size large. However, I am petite (5'3") and thin (106 lbs) and thought this would be too big. I never thought I had a particularly long torso. Anyway, Candice suggested that when measuring from the back (because I am pregnant) to not bring the tape measure to far to the front of the hip. I think the best I could do is 25" following that advice, and that is still a medium. She suggested a small or medium. I don't know what to do. Anyone else have a similar experience and have any advice? Am I better off with a sling that is a little too small, or one that is too big?

You really a need a pouch that fits just right. I think a large will be WAAAAY too big for you, and a medium will probably be too big for you as well. You want the baby to be above your waist and very snug against your chest.

I can tell you that I am 5'6" and 140 lbs and I wear a LB size medium and it is plenty roomy for me. I have another friend who also wears a medium. She is shorter than me, maybe about your height, but she is fairly round all-over and big on top...I'd say she's probably a 10-12 in shirt sizes at least.

For someone who is petite and very slim, I think a small is probably your best bet.

Here are some pictures of me at the beach in a LB size medium, hope this helps!:

I just chose "custom" in my sizing and sent my measurements to Candice- bust, height, weight, and shoulder-to-hip. She will know how to best determine sizing for you!

I had trouble with the LB sizing, too. I measured in size XL, but that was waaaay too big. I ordered a L next, but that was too big, too. I'm currently working with her to find just the right size. I like to wear my baby (3 months) up high and tight against my chest, though.

Keep emailing her and eventually yuou two will figure it out.

I lost a lot of weight 4-5 mo after my dd was born, and needed to go a size down. Pouches are really tricky that way, so maybe it's not the best idea to get a regular one while you are preggo. How about going for an adjustable pouch, like mamma's milk (http://www.mammasmilk.com/) now, then get another one (who am I kidding, another *several*) when your weight is closer to normal? (BTW, I *love* my Lucky Baby pouches and don't have a mamma's milk.)
