I want to buy a new bag but I can't decide which one. What would you get Loom or Alpha 7?

Help!!!!!!

I can't get the Loom Marsupial out of my head, lol! As a matter of fact it is listed on my Baby Essential checklist. Since seeing that one I have not seen another that I like nearly as much, I love it.

I love that you can get a coordinating Loom Watermelon Clutch for $20, have you seen them? They are so perfect for when you just have to run in here or there, plus the designer said that you can clip the clutch to the key ring thingy in the Marsupial, so convenient.

I'm hoping that I can find a coupon code of some sort for diaperbags.com (that's who carries Loom online) but that may just be wishful thinking.

Let me know what you choose, if you get the Marsupial I'd love to hear how you like it.

P.S. I plan to get mine sometime in March/April since I'm not due till May.

I haven't actually seen either IRL, but I did just order a Loom marsupial. I wimped out and got the neutral green color. I should have it by next Wednesday. I can post a review and more pictures if y'all are interested.
FWIW, I like the pictures of the inside of the Alpha 7, but the outside is way too boxy for me. I think the Loom marsupial looks less diaperbagistic.
BTW, Johanna La Fleur (the Loom diaper bag founder) is the "Fleur" in Fleurville. She sold her part of Fleurville last year and started Loom.

Just my two cents...

Well isn't that interesting! I thought her name rang a bell for some reason, I guess that's why.

I would definitely love your pics and review of the Marsupial, I'm already pretty sold on it though, just waiting till I'm closer to baby time. I hope you love it!!

Where did you order your Loom from? I just checked out the Alpha yesterday and agree with you that it's too boxy. I'd love to hear what you think of it when it arrives!

I ordered it from diaperbags.com. They had it dropped shipped directly from Loom. I know because the "Loom Lady" Johanna La Fleur emailed me a thank you. I'll post some pics and a review next week after I get it.

Here are the pics of my new bag. The fabric is a little shiny, but it's very sturdy. I expected the inside of the bag to be pink, but it's more of a purpley-pink color. This bag is a perfect size for me. It's 15" wide on the bottom and tapers to 13" wide at the top. It's 10" tall and 6" deep. The bottle pockets on the outside are huge! I don't think I have ever seen bottle pockets like this. In one of them I have an insulated sippy and in the other I have my wallet. Yes, my monster size wallet fits in a bottle pocket! The strap is a little wider than I would like, but it definitely doesn't fall off my shoulder. The strap pad is awesome! The weight of the bag really suprised me. I think it's lighter in weight than my ISM tote. Oh, and it has little metal feet on the bottom.

Here's what I can fit in the bag:
6 size 2 Pampers Swaddlers
2 size 5 Pampers Cruisers
Onesie and socks for my newborn
Extra flannel blanket
2 Diaper disposal (trash) bags
Travel pack of wipes
Travel pack of Kleenex
Several bendy straws
3 large Bibsters
3 handy wipes
Nursing pads
Pack of gum
Pack of crackers
Bottle of Baby Tylenol
Bottle of Mylicon
Chapstick
Palm Pilot
Coupon organizer
Monster size wallet
Insulated Sippy
Cell Phone
Changing pad
Even with all this in the bag I can still put toys or snacks in the top of the bag.

It's really cute -- I think I might want one. Are you going to wear it messenger-style?

Thanks for such a great review!!

You know at first I was going to go with the red but I like the moss that you have, especially with that nice shade of purple interior. I actually wanted to like the moss because I felt it would be more of a color that would transition ok for dh. I am going to seriously consider the moss now.

Are you going to wear it over one shoulder or messenger style, or mix it up? I think the reason the strap is wide is so that it can be worn comfortably mesg. style.

Also, did yours come with the drawstring stuff-sack, and do you know what color interior the red Marsupial has? I wonder if it's the same as the moss' interior.

I am so happy to hear that you are pleased with it!

P.S. I LOVE the fact that it has those little metal feet, I'm a slight germaphobe and hate putting my bags on floors, but with that feature I'd be ok!

Great bag Sara! Funny thing is that the interior is the exact same as my Fleurville Mothership--exact same layout and pockets. :)

Thanks for sharing the pix. Charlye is adorable and has some beautiful eyes!

I haven't tried it messenger style yet. I don't think it would work too well over my coat right now.
It did come with the drawstring sack and changing pad. I don't use the sack so I didn't think to include a picture before. I'll add some below. I think the red one has the same interior as mine. If you look real closely at the red one in this picture I think you'll see the contrast in the bottle pockets. It's just not as noticeable with the red.

ITA with you about the feet. I HATE sitting my bag directly on the floor.

Fabulous review, Sara! The bag looks very cool--like the Mothership but w/o the plastic, which is what I've been looking for. Oh, and Charlye is simply stunning--love the eyes and the HAIR! So cute!

Hey, Tammy! Yeah, I just responded to your other thread! So, okay, we're both obsessing over the bag, but at least you DID something about it, whereas I just sat around HOPING somebody would do something about it. :)
