from the designer of both. I had sent an email inquiring about how the Marsupial's size in comparison with the Mothership and here is her explanation.

The internal compartment of the Marsupial is just about the same size at
the Fleurville bag. (though I've not done a head-to-head measurement
yet!).

The Marsupial does have an additional pocket against the side wall for a
baby wipe container. Other than that, the internal layout is really
similar (I designed them both! I co-founded Fleurville and sold my
interest in the venture last spring and launched Loom).

The base of the Marsupial bag is slightly less deep than the Fleurville
bag - that is the depth/thickness of the bag as it sits against your
hip. As a result the Marsupial has a more streamlined silhouette, and
sits flatter against your back/hip when you wear it messenger style.
It's decidedly less boxy than the Fleurville bag but with the same cargo
area. This 'boxiness' was one of the major complaints we got early on at
Fleurville - feedback that I incorporated into the design of the
Marsupial."

Anyway, just wanted to share what I found out.
