Hi Everyone,

I am having so much trouble deciding on which bag to get and am running out of time for the Timbuk-2 co-op. I have a p-3 in Synergy (see pic) and can't decide if I should order the Peg Perego Borsa Media Bag in Synergy (not sure on the quality of these bags) or try and build my own bag through Timbuk-2. I built one using both fabrics since the grey and silver in the ballistic material were different than the steel and silver in the other material. Please give me your opinion. Also, any suggestions on the color of the accesories would be welcome! I really am having a hard time deciding. Does anyone have a Borsa Media bag or know what kind of quality they are. Thanks in advance for your help!

Edited to say the darker grey on my stroller doesn't have that weird pattern thing going on. It just came out like that in the pictures. I will try and edit one of them and post a close up of the material.

I would go with the timbuk2. I have a tiny bag from peg that came with my navetta and i don't like it. It has thick padding (I guess for insulation) and makes the small bag feel cumbersome. I don't know how the large bags are though. I have the peewee timbuk2 which I love. While mine does not match my stroller at all (I have the timbutour graphic bag from Sierra TP) and a xplorer stroller, the balistic nylon on the bag is a very similar material to the darker grey that is on your stroller. The "grain" is nearly identical. HTH

I agree, it would be nice to have something slightly different against the fabric. I'm not a fan of the Peg bags at all. They are the same fabric as the strollers so really "puffy". It felt like I was a carrying a pillow!

Thanks Ladies! The hood on the stroller is more a a shiny material but the rest is pretty matt. I read that the courdova (sp?) was more matt. I also wish I could tell from the web site which grey or silver would match better. Did you like the "layout" of the colors I picked? Thanks again for the feedback!

Teva - Here is a thread with a picture of the T2 in cordura that has both the silver and gray in it (with mint). You may want to do a search for Timbuk2 and see if you can find any other pictures that might have the colors in ballistic.

Good luck with your decision. I'm trying to decide on colors myself.

Here is another thread with a graphic bag with ballistic silver. It is a very accurate pic. Also shows what I meant about the grain of the balistic nylon being similar to the hood of the synergy p3. HTH

ETA: Here is the thread; I looked for it before but forgot to paste it! I'll try to figure out how to post pics of mine tomorrow. http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=63&topic_id=8733&mode=full&page=10

Hi Smiles 81. I don't see a link to your thread. :-( Thanks for posting though. By the way, I posted two links to the timbuk2 site where I built two bags, one in cordo...whatever that is and one in ballistic. Just wondering what you think of the color combination (is it too much?) as well as the color on the accessories. Your input is appreciated!

Hi Aileen. Thanks for posting this. I was actually trying to decide between the red and the burgundy to go with the grey/silver or steel/silver. Not sure from the graphics on t-2 site which is closest to the "red" on the synergy.

Just throwing a couple others into the mix. ;-) The beauty of the Peg bag is that it is made to attach to the loops on the handles. You can use carabiners to attach a bag in a very similar fashion. However it works better with bags that have straps that are removable, therefore having a loop where the strap attaches for a carabiner to hold it. The Ameribag tote (not a diaper bag, but a messenger bag with a great U-shaped zipper top), the Lands End classic Do-it-all and the Lands End Classic Little tripper all have this feature and hang really nicely by carabiners so the strap does not slip or get in the way. Just some additional thoughts to throw into your mix. ;-)

Hi, my opinion is that the color of the dark grey on your stroller is probably darker than the silver but lighter and more bluish than the steel. Therefore, I would try to blend colors rather than try to do an exact match. Maybe you should do silver and red or steel and red, even if the red doesn't totally match the piping, it would bring it out. I know that when I use light blue accesories with my xplorer it really brings out that color and makes the stroller very striking. Just throwing out the suggestion. I do like your bag though. Apparently it is hard to match colors to synergy, as in another thread someone mentioned that no skip hop colors match well. With the bag you designed, I would use all red accesories. Definitly do ballistic, the material is awesome and really stain and waterproof. I'm sure you bag will look great. HTH

ETA: check ebay for real live photos of timbuk2. They show the colors way better than the timbuk2 website. The silver is really darker than the way timbuk2 shows it.

Thanks! Just what I needed...more choices! (only kidding..thanks really.) Is that the ameribag on your pliko? Thanks for the links. I need to go back and take another look at the Timbuk-2 and see if there is anywhere I could potentially attach those clips. (I'm thinking there isn't though :( ). Thanks again.

Yup, I see what you mean. Thanks. I'm a little bummed that the T-2 doesn't have anyplace I can hook on clips to attach it to the clips on my P-3. Otherwise I LOVE the bag. For the price I am definately leaning toward it over the Peg Perego bag. Especially since I know the quality on these bags are exceptional. Looking forward to your pics tomorrow. Thanks again!

Thank you soooo much for the suggestion. I am rebuilding my bag and will post it so you can see what it looks like. Ya think red, silver, red...red, grey, red...silver,red,silver..arg....I'm obsessing way to much about this. I only have one stroller bag though (besides the freebie enfamil bag from the hospital that is falling apart). A combi that I love. It's all black but big so I am looking for something a little smaller for quick trips. Ok...of to E-bay.

tippy,
have you considered a red bag? your P3 has a red piping and a red bag that matches it may be a nice contrast. just another thought...

I really like the red/grey/red. I think it would be really pretty with the stroller. Now I am going to look at these bags too.

I guess it would be cool if you could clip it on, but the strap is super easy and fun to adjust so you can make it hang at any lenght so it doesn't get in the way. Then you can readujust it quickly for wearing.

I like the first one and the last one the best. I also like silver logos. There all really nice though. I think they will look nice with synergy.

Actually I was thinking of that but....if ds is in the stroller you really don't see that much of the red at all. And if the hood is closed you don't see any. Well...I was considering one of those specialty t-2's, I think it is called China and is red with Chinese style graphics.

LOVE the red ones!! even if you can get a teeny peek of it. i liked the Red China, but I absolutely love the Red Wegman in the artist series. Have you taken a peek INSIDE the bag?? it is a great work of art!!!!

the silver Wegman is beautiful too!!

and here's a non co-op deal...

Not my kiddo or P3. ;-) I don't think there is a way on the Timbuk2. A good friend of mine recently got the Timbuk2 (in the Metro?, the small, and the medium) and the Ameribag Tote. As a diaper bag, she only uses the Ameribag, it is the only bag out of the 3 that has enough ways to organize for going out with 3 kids (ages 2, 3, 4). For her stuff while out (her personal things, camera, gym clothes if she is going out) she uses the Metro or Small. She gave the medium to her highschool age dd for a school bag. Good luck deciding. I keep thinking I should go back to school, just to get one of those great Timbuk2 graphic bags! ;-) :-)

Thanks Mama! I only have one and I already have a pretty large diaper bag which I really like. The combi traditional bag in black. It has been a great bag and it's the one I use when I need to haul a lot of stuff. This would be more for short outings. I think I have decided on grey, silver, grey with red logo and accessories. (closests to the very first bag I posted!) I don't feel too bad about my choice since I only really have one diaper bag (if you don't count my grungy enfamil bag from the hopital that is falling apart!) I also only have ONE stroller (gasp, gufaw, gasp). So that being said, I could conceivably (sp) justify an ameribag sometime in the future should my brood grow! And, I could always sell the T-2 on e-bay (if I ever get around to figuring out how to sell anything on ebay that is).:-) ;-)

Sorry for not responding to your post earlier. I just got back from a four day vacation with ds in Orlando and was rushing to get ready while trying to decide on and order a bag! I ended up with the smaller messenger bag in grey-silver-grey with red logo, phone holder and strap pouch. Thanks for all your suggestions!
