wanted to share some pics that aimee sent of one of my completed lily bags. the structure looks amazing and she placed the fabric exactly where i wanted it :) i used the amy butler kimono for exterior and the coordinating stripes for pockets only and pink interior. i added all the additional accessories:extra pockets & stiffness, key loops, feet, vinyl interior, silver hook closures & strap attachments. i also changed the height of bag. will post closer pics when i get it.

requested brown twill bottom , but there wasn't one to match,so went with one fabric. the kimono pattern does have more blues than i expected, but from what i can see, ella's workmanship is whats impressing me.

aimee is such an angel to work with and it is such a pleasure doing doing business with her! lookin forward to more bags in the future :)

just another plug for ella!

btw...if anyone has the time, can you tell me if my pics are coming out large, like the size of this screen?(that's how it shows up on my computer...gigantic) chris

I would love to see your bag, but the files aren't readable (they are "txt" instead of "jpg" files.

I have been really looking at using those fabrics myself! Do you think it would be too busy to have the striped fabric for the lower portion of the bag?

hi melissa...mixing patterns on bags looks cuter & whimsical on smaller bags like the elaine or even smaller :)

have fun choosing!

Ie is Internet Explorer (vs Safari..another browser for Mac users!). I click on each of your links and then dragged the photos to the desktop. After that I resized them to 640x480 (pixels) using MacImage Resizer and then added them as attachments to the new post I wrote.

You can resize usually in the camera itself or w/ a program such as PhotoShop Elements or other shareware programs (look for photo resize software for your operating system on something such as http://www.tucows.com).

HTH!

This bag is so pretty!!! I LOVE the stripe. My only question is it's weight because those fabric straps seem pretty thin to me and the bag is big so it would get heavy loaded up? I had a Vera bag and eventually the fabric straps wore out so I would be curious to hear from others about that too. i would love to design a bag...

Can anyone comment on putting metal feet on the bag? I like the concept, but it seems like I remember a bunch of people complaining that they fall off really easily...

I have only read of one case were a foot fell off, there could be others. I have never received an actual complaint from a customer. The feet used on these bags are purchased from the best manufacture in the United States. If there is an issue with them falling apart the manufacture should be notified. Otherwise, I think they are a nice accent.

I'm so glad you love your bag, Christine. I had to purchase a bit of the fabric for myself. Then, about 3 other girls in our shop scavenged the remains. It was so funny. This fabric will definitly become a staple. It goes with everything in my wardrobe.

The fabrics are thin but they are each reinforced with stablalizer and the interlining used gave her bag the heaviness she expected. Her straps are of a heavier material as well to give them more durability. Just some FYI. I haven't been on the boards in a while and I'm hoping to get back in the groove. I'll probably be moving to the Toddler boards until we are expecting number 2.
