OK....DH already thinks I am nuts, so I might as well go the distance and ask - what bag to try next? Here's the dilemma...I love the bags that I have, but feel I need "perfection". I have a Little Tripper for quick runs, a Kecci and 2 Ellas for short trips, and the older LE Diaper Backpack to make my husband happy. I have found lots of happiness with my Alpha, but I would like just a little more room. I thought the LE DIA would be good, but I just saw it in person and it is HUGE (maybe for when I have two little angels). I like lots of pockets, closure at the top (not open like with a tote), and I am not a huge fan of magnetic closures. The red Mothership calls to me, but I fear its "shiny" factor. I am not near any stores that sell any of the brands discussed on this board (how do I even go on?!), so I am hoping to get lots of input and narrow it down to a few. Oh, and I am not a super-heavy packer (usually a couple of bottles, 4 diapers, formula dispenser, bib and burp cloth, 1 change of clothes, jar of food, sample size diaper cream/SPF/aquaphor/wipes, and my stuff - wallet/phone/chapstick/brush). TIA for supporting my insanity ;)

I had a fear of the "shiny" bags too! But since my Mothership, it is my new favorite type of bag. The Red MS is really nice looking. I like the shiny now bec it is so different looking. I have also received a lot of compliments on it.

Hi Traci- I say try the Mothership! It is such a great bag and you will totally forget about the shine factor. It's so cool looking- I have a pink stripe and am trying to control myself and not order a red one for fall. You can pack a ton of stuff and it's still manageable. I don't live near any cool baby stores either (we're in Maine)but even if you order the MS and don't like it, just sell it on the bagswap group.
BTW- I'm a nurse, too! I work in L&D and am always amazed at what ICU nurses do!

I had the same reservations about the shininess of the Mothership bags and they seem just a little too big for me. But I love the colors and patterns that they come in.

I don't know if this recomendation will help or frustrate you. I fell in love with Woo Diaper Bags, but then had a heck of time finding any for sale online or in stores. I did finally buy one sight unseen from a Maternity Boutique called Glow Girl in Northern California (thin stripes in browns, black, & mustard colors with burgandy satin lining from the fall collection).

Here's some pictures of the spring collection, but they don't have photos of the fall collection available on the site yet. Made of a soft canvas fabric with nice leather detailing. They're very lightweight and have a beautiful lining & changing pad and a zippered pocket inside. 15x7x12" Cost about $220

click on Collections Spring 2004 & scroll down.

the only other place I found one to look at was on Diaperbags.com (you can see the inside on this site)

My suggestion is maybe a Bumble bag? I have been very happy with mine! I have the Jessica bag. I wear it on one shoulder, but the backpack straps are nice to hand on restaurant chairs.
