Skip*Hop Question

I saw a Skip*Hop diaper bag for the first time recently. I haven't been able to check it out too closely yet. I know the front two pockets are open, but I was wondering if the center section zips closed. It looked like the front pockets could also close with velcro, is that the case? I'll probably order it on Target.com but I wanted to examine it more in person first. Looks like that will be a hassle though. Any help will be appreciated. TIA

I love my Skip Hop! The two front pockets are mainly open but have a small velcro closure. They're nice and deep and can also hold bottles, sippys, or a water bottle for you. The main compartment have a partial velcro closure. I think the reason they didn't do a zipper is to keep the entire bag contents readily accessible at your fingertips, so there's never anything to unzip, unflap, etc...to get to the stuff inside.

Have you checked the Skip Hop website to find a retailer near you that you may be able to check it out in person first? I know Nordstroms is picking them up now. If you can't find one in person, I know Target.com's returns can be made in the store.

Also if you do a search on these boards, there are quite a few reviews of the Skip Hop with photos and stuff. :)

Thanks a lot. I went to one of the Nordstroms on the list and they had never heard of it. So now I need to go to one of the other ones. The point is to get one my husband will carry it so I want him there. He's working for the next few days. He was kind of annoyed to be dragged all the way across town and then not see it. I'm tempted to just order it from Target.com since I can return it and their prices are pretty good.

My DH will use the Skip Hop on the stroller. He just hates carrying ANY diaper bag, so we're making progress.

The top two pockets do zipper closed (that is where I put my wallet and cell phone, which d/n fit in the Skip Hop cell phone pocket). The large, middle compartment (where most of us put diapers & wipes) velcro's shut.

Thanks. Guys are so weird. I bought a Swiss Army Messenger bag (that he said was OK), so that he would have something "manly" to carry. Now he won't touch it. Says it's too small, says it looks like a purse. It's always something with them.

Yeah, I saw that. Thanks. That's why I planned on getting it through Target. With free shipping it's the cheapest I've found. Plus I can return it local. How convenient. Anyhow, thanks again.

I just wanted to mention that you should check with Target.com to see if you can return the Skip Hop locally if you buy it online. They have a return policy that you can only return web-exclusive items by mail. The Skip Hop looks like it is labelled as a "Web Only" purchase.

I love my Skip Hop. I have the bubblegum pink one, and I get more compliments on it!
I think it is a great diaper bag. I can hold plenty of things in it.
