Hello!

It depends whether or not you want a padded changing pad. You can buy the Huggies Disposable Changing Pads in just about any Target, Walmart, BRU, etc, but those are unpadded. I like them because they're HUGE! They also have a nice water-proof back and absorbent cotton front. They fold very small and you can just toss them when you're done. The more germ-conscious ones of us like those a lot.

If you want a padded one, there are several companies out there to chose from. I have a changing pad by Ella Bags (www.ella-bags.com) that folds very small, is lightly padded, and machine washable. I think it was like $15? You can pick you own fabrics too.

But honestly, you can use anything. I know several moms just use a receiving blanket. One mom carries around a roll of Glad Press and Seal plastic wrap to use as a changing station, car seat liner, stroller liner...anything!

As the pp said you have lots of options. You can go the disposable route, cloth, padded, organized, or even just use a recieving blanket (great because they are small in a bag, cheap, washable, etc). Here are some ideas of various types for you-

pad with pockets to hold wipes and such-http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000067QPD/qid=1095690117/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/103-9254815-8389413?v=glance&s=baby

disposable pads- http://store.yahoo.com/netkidswear/dismulchanpa.html

reusable fabric pad- http://store.yahoo.com/netkidswear/dexchanpadde.html

everything but the bag (includes a bunch of things)- http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_10/602-1130780-5971047?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B0002HDWIS

postable changing "station"- I have this, it tends to be larger than most bags, but is great to leave in a stroller basket or car) http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000067QZ1/qid=1095690692/br=1-2/ref=br_lf_ba_2//103-9254815-8389413?v=glance&s=baby&n=551504

These are a great deal, there is a 30% off coupon on the homepage www.babystyle.com for these http://www.babystyle.com/common/dProductDetail.asp?PMId=13992&SIND=1&cmCL=estyleoutlet&frm=2

Anyway, hope that helps give you a good idea of what is out there. You can spend quite a bit, but can certainly find something under $10. If you are looking for practical, check Target or Babies R Us.

I'm a big fan of the disposable pads. The thought of putting a changing pad back in my bag after it was on a public changing table always kind of uggied me out. But I'm more germphobic then most :) They're actually great pads too - big enough for my toddlers, waterproof lining on the back, and a tad padded so they're not too uncomfortable. Certainly not great for the environment, and can get expensive if you change a lot of diapers when you're out - I don't though - usually just try to make it back to the car and change in the back of the minivan where I don't use a diaper pad, so I don't go through too many.

I use this:

It's made by JL Childress. I like that it's big enough to use, but folds up small enough to fit in purses and small diaper bags.
