I loved working with Cathy! We picked out our own fabric and I think all told our total cost was around $36. Don't know if you can tell from these shots, but the fabric is a batik-looking, space pattern with planets and stars and comets and moons.

Cathy chose the underside fabric, and I don't *love* it, but at the price and for the outstanding quality of her work, I can live with it. Just happy that the underside is not very visible. If I could do it again, I would have asked her how much fabric she needed to do the entire cart in the fabric I chose. I got a great deal at Joanne's, so my fabric was only $3/yd.

here are the pics...

Oh it's SOOOO cute! And Santiago is just too cute himself, especially that last picture! :D I e-mailed her today about getting one myself. Glad to see the good review!

Cathy is so great to work with.

Couple of things I really like about our sewcute boutique cover...I love that the safety strap doubles as a carrying handle. That saves me from having to keep track of a carrying/storage bag for the cover. I love the toy loops. I love the plush padding and pillow (pillow is especially great for added propping-up/support on those huge double-wide Costco carts). We haven't used the elastic pocket yet. I think we would have been better off with just an elastic band that we could use for securing a snack cup, bottle, or sippy, rather than the long, deep pocket - though I sometimes throw my keys in there. Also if I could do it over again, I would ask her to sew the safety strap in place. It's not secured and so sometimes it slips through the slits, requiring us to re-thread the safety belt which is no fun.

Please don't mistake my commentary for displeasure...I am so, so happy with our sewcute boutique cart cover. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Cathy works really fast and was very helpful quick to get back to me with answers to my questions. I would definitely recommend her to a friend.

Good luck to you and post pics when yours is complete.

Thanks,

Lydia

Santiago is a cutie!!! And I love Veggie booty! (couldn't help but notice it was in your cart, he he) DH hates it though!

I think that's a great idea about hanging an elastic band rather than a pocket. Is sewing the safety strap in place an option? How does it secure to the cart?

Ok, you guys have totally inspired me. I was looking for a Hawaiian print but went to JoAnn's today & found one I liked even better! lol Cathy has been great so far giving me suggestions & ideas. I'm so excited to send my fabric to her. I'm attaching a picture of what it looks like (with my little "I gotta be the center of attention" DD). I wanted a more *gender neutral* print, in case we ever have a boy. :D
