Hi! I'm petite (just a little over 5') and would like a nice new small diaper bag for quick trips to the store and such.

Since DS has been a newborn, I've been alternating between our black Eddie Bauer diaper backpack, my black Combi Urban Sling and black Kate Spade medium diaper tote (I use this more for dressier occasions). I know, black is so boring.

I want something that won't look overbearing on me. I like the idea of messenger style or shoulder bag that won't slip. I need easy access. It took me awhile to get used to my Combi sling b/c I thought that was big initially. Now that DS is 15 mos old, I only need to carry around 1-2 diapers, small wipes container (or put in Ziplock), one romper outfit, a straw cup and a small snack container. For me, just need to carry my small wallet (sometimes just carry money, ATM card and D.L.), lipstick, cell phone and keys.

I saw the MS, A7 and PPB bags IRL yesterday. I couldn't believe how huge the MS is! Love the organization, but I can't imagine carrying that thing. The A7 and PPB are nice, but still look a little big on me. I'm worried about the PPB material. Seems like it might snag alot. I like the size of the Little Tripper, but want something more feminine or dressier.

Any other suggestions? Sorry this turned out to be longer than I expected.

Thanks!
Joyce

Hi Joyce! I'm 5'2" and totally understand about being ovewhelmed by a large bag!

I use a Timbuk2 Metro as my small diaper bag. It isn't a real diaper bag, but it's perfect! It has a mesh bottle holder inside and will easily hold a couple diapers, wipes, and an outfit, plus all your mommy stuff. It's not a "pretty" bag, but it's not ugly either. It comes in fun colors too. :) I like it because it can be worn messenger style, which is my preference.

I hope you get lots of good ideas here!

Check out the Chester classic diaper bags, www.chesterhandbags.com they are not huge bags, and very lightweight.

You might also be interested in a custom bag, like a WW or Ella, they have numerous sizes to choose from.

I just used my backpack purse (a Tignanello, don't think they make the same style anymore). It was a great size, the front zipper pocket I used for my stuff, and the main zippered pocket was for the babies...big enough to hold a couple dipes, baggie of wipes, butt cream, sippy and snack cup, and a little toy. If you want to go this route, they have something similar on ebags for about $40 in black leather and I think free shipping.

For my "quick trip" bag i have a Whimsical Wears, Katie Bucket Tote. I love that it really looks like a purse. I just ordered a similar bag one size up to get me through those longer trips.

I am only 5' myself so I understand not wanting to be overwhelmed. My DS is also 15 months old, and I've been using my WW Katie Bucket Tote alot these days! If I'm headed out for more than a few hours, then I've been using the WW Elizabeth bag. They're very pretty and were so much fun to pick out!
