View Full Version : Please help - Diaper bag around the $50 range?

I am due in 10 weeks and don't know what to do about a diaper bag. I love the Mothership, but alas, it is far too expensive for me right now. I like Whimsical Wears - would one of theirs be good as my only bag (until I start splurging on others ;-))? Or can you recommend something else? I thought about the Lands End bags, but it looks like the strap is the same type of material as my purse right now, which pills up certain shirts because it's not covered in fabric or leather. Any help would be appreciated. TIA!

Have you looked at the Kecci's?? Those are really cute & pretty popular right now. I think they retail for about $58, but there was a coop here not too long ago where they were $37 including shipping (I think). I have one & love it cause it can be worn over your shoulder or backpack style. Kecci is coming out with some new colors pretty soon too.

Another pretty popular one (good for strollers) is the Skip Hop ($56)

One thing you may consider is just using your freebie from the hospital until you can see how much you'll be carrying around. That'll give you a little more time to decide. Good luck! :)

I would recommend the Kecci too for that price range. Hopefully a coop will happen soon. I was going to return a black and beige kecci mommy bag to Nordstrom Rack last wednesday but ds was sick and I could not get out of the house. I will be returning those tom. so email me if you are interested. I have a Navy Kecci which I am using right now and I really like it.

Sometimes, these pop out at the babybags yahoo swap group too.

Christina,

I'd be interested in the black one if it's still available and depending on shipping. Where are you located? I tried to email you but it wouldn't work. Can you please email me? heather _ montoya @ yahoo . com (no spaces). I had a mint green one and I got rid of it, but now regretting it!

When I had DS I had the same problem and I ordered a WW "Elizabeth" monogrammed. It turned out to be too small, and I couldn't re-sell it b/c it had a "K" on it. Anyway, the poster that recommended you use the hospital one is a good idea for you to see how much you will carry. However, after DS was born I wound up ordering a Skip*Hop and I LOVE it. Like you I wanted to wait to start my obsession. Now that he's here I have 4 bags on my "want" list, and am now willing to spend more money. I highly recommend starting with a Skip*Hop if you decide not to wait until after your baby is born.

Good luck. HTH

The Dinatelli Diaper bag is an exact replica of the Mothership. The logo even looks similar. They are sold at Wal-Marts in Canada. It is a great bag with great orginization without breaking the bank. I have one listed in the babybags yahoo group. There are pictures posted under Dinatelli bag if you want to see what it looks like.

New it is $27 Canadian. They also have a few more taxes than us. The price I am asking is exactly what I paid for the bag and shipping. If you want to you can email me at TChapm99 @ aol.com (no spaces) and we can discuss the price.
