In 2 weeks I will be traveling alone with my 6 week old. I'm looking for suggestions on which bag would be best for this adventure.

I'd recommend a backpack, or something that converts to a backpack. You'll want your hands free to carry other bags or push a stroller, and the backpack would be perfect for that. As to which backpack, it really depends on your style and budget. Some options are:

Land's End Deluxe Diaper Backpack

Baby Sherpa

Fleurville Alpha 7 (might be too small with a newborn)

I'd suggest a backpack as well. For travelling (especially by air), we usually use a full size backpack (like used for school) rather than a diaper bag. The plus is having some extra space for your things and minimizing the number of bags you need to deal with. For longer trips where you might plan a few smaller stops, I've found it helpful to bring along a smaller bag that folds up compactly and is easy to pack in the larger backpack. With my first DS, I'd bring along the older style LE Little Tripper. This way I wouldn't need to carry around the big bag the whole trip, just for 3/4 to whole day excursions.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I have purchased both a Baby Sherpa (for only $39) and the Lands End. I haven't yet decided which one I will take next week, but like them both for different reasons. I may even keep them both, since we've got many years of traveling with a small child ahead of us.

Have to add my vote for a Land's End, either the Do-It-All or the backpack...either one would be a great choice, though the backpack gives you more mobility.
