Why can't I think of ideas like this?

Edited to add: Is this something that might drum up some interest for a co-op? I could contact the designer about it.

Those look really nice.
I didn't personally LOVE any of the patterns (but that's just me...I like to keep it simple)..
My little boy is getting big though & I can NEVER keep him on his changing pad!
I wonder how bit the smaller ones are folded & if thay'd fit into a Skip Hop???
Thanks for sharing the info!
I might have to order one if a cop op happens!!

That is so funny! I just thought to myself last week (while wrestling a squirmy baby all over a tiny rectangular changing pad), "why don't they make these things round?"

I'd definitely be in for a co-op, but I'm also wondering how small they fold up. I'm trying to downsize to smaller dipe bags, so I don't want the changing pad to be my downfall!

I would be interested too. I might even want a couple of them to give as gifts.

I'm in. LOVE them! One day I'll have to stop checking these boards, b/c it's too dangerous.

What a great idea! I might buy one or two to give as gifts, depending on what the co-op price is.

The designer emailed me back and this is what she said,
------------------------------------------------------------------
"Thanks so much for your message and your interest in my patemm pads! I have put alot of thought into this "co-op" opportunity and at this time I would like to to pass on this. I have been approached by others to do this type of service. Although I see the great benefit, I may re-consider in the very near future! I do hope you understand.

I will keep you posted!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So it looks like there won't be a co-op now. I am going to email her back to thank her for considering, and tell her to take one more look at this post to see how many would be interested. So keep posting if you would be interested if we could swing a co-op. Sorry gals. Such a shame too because it seems like there would be a decent ammount of interest. I think they are so cool!!

I emailed the designer also to ask the folded up dimensions....this is her response....

"Thanks so much for your message/question. Alot of my potential customers have asked about this very question so I will be adding this information to my site. The large 30 inch patemm pad when folded is: 10x10x1.5/2.0--i give it a 1/2 inch due to the padding inside. The depth will obviously change once "stuff" is the the pockets. The 24-inch patemm pad is 8x8x1.5/2.0. The pads do, in fact, fold-up in a square without velcro, ties, or buttons. I hope this helps!"

Thought I'd share what I learned.

Thank you! I kept looking for that exact information on the website and was a little surprised it wasn't available.

What a shame b/c I would have loved to get one, but at that price, I'll have to hold off. Maybe, soon we'll be able to do it.

That's too bad. I love the idea of it, but we'd need the 30" size and I just can't imagine paying $38 for it.

Did anyone else notice that the oilcloth fabric is 95% PVC? I'm not an anti-PVC freak or anything, but I was surprised to see it used in a product that is exclusively made for babies.

They're a little pricey for me without a co-op reduction. Oh well. Thanks for trying :)

Will someone fill me in on the problem with PVC fabric? I haven't heard about this before. Thanks!

Me too, what's bad about PVC?

holliam
10-22-2004, 09:48 PM
I recommend doing web searches for PVC products. I don't want to get into a debate. I just prefer to avoid PVC products whenever I can, and I cannot believe how many baby products are made with it. I don't buy toys made with PVC plastics either. It may not be an issue for some people, but it's one of my hot issues. I also think PVC fabric just feels nasty. I would much prefer just simply using a WAHM-made cotton-topped diaper pad that I can toss in the laundry with my cloth diapers.

I do love the circular design though. That's innovative!

I will review it once I get it. I think it will be great to leave in the car for short trips that I don't need a whole bag for.
It said it ships in 1-2 weeks.

I would love to get one and would absolutely be intersted in a co-op! Would probably buy a couple as gifs as well! Have to research the PVC issue though, since I know nothing about it.
