View Full Version : KECCI CO-OP resumes Nov 15 (tentatively)

supercalifragilous

I just got an e-mail from Tracy about the co-op...

What's included:
She said these will include the 4000 and 5000 bags (see the CMS code right in front of the "in stock" blurb). A few of the new bags are 6000 and Tracy is checking to see if these can also be included.

Start date/New designs:
The new designs are supposed to be in stock around mid-November, which is why she's tentatively started the co-op on Nov 15. If the new bags do NOT show up as In Stock by 11/15, do NOT order anyway, see below.

How to order:
We are to use the same ordering process as before (I will go find that old post) but again, please do not order bags that do not show "In Stock" as Tracy does not want to run into the same problem as before. So please wait until the bag shows In Stock status before ordering.

Did I mention how AWESOME Kecci is????? Now off to find that old post!
************************************************** *************
ETA: Here's the old post. I thought I'd cut & paste to make it easier for those who had slow computers (like me).

VIEW BAGS: http://www.kecci.com/cgi-bin/TLSstore.cgi?kvar=shanghai

PRICE:
Great news! Tracy Golden @ Kecci.com has agreed to a co-op for us for the Shanghai Mommybags! They will absorb the shipping cost to all BBB members so the bag will be $37, FREE SHIPPING!!! For those of you in Texas, please add sales tax.

HOW TO ORDER:
You can e-mail Tracy your order ([email protected]), fax it, or send a check/money order (see special instructions below). The simplest way would be to pay by credit card by e-mailing Tracy using the Purchase Order form below. Tracy is our representative handling all Purchase Orders for the co-op in NY and authorizes shipment/payment to the distribution center in Ft. Worth.

IMPORTANT: In the Subject line of the e-mail, put "Baby Bargains Board Co-op Purchase Order."

IF PAYING BY CHECK/MONEY ORDER:
Checks/MOs should be made out to Pinnacle Priority Projects and checks/MOs only (NOT the Purchase Order) sent to the Ft. Worth address. Write the check # in the space provided on the Purchase Order and e-mail the Purchase Order ([email protected]) or fax (212-947-2793) to Tracy in the NY showroom. Please note they will wait for out-of-state checks to clear before fulfilling orders.

FOLLOWUP:
All followup should go through Tracy (she *really* prefers e-mail) in the NY showroom. Please do not contact Ft. Worth, as it is just the distribution center.

SHIPMENT:
Give at least 3-4 weeks once the payment is cleared.

***copy and paste the form below into your e-mail to Tracy-- make sure you put in the Subject line: "Baby Bargains Board Co-op Purchase Order"***

Yes, as far as I know... I asked Tracy if everything was the same and she said Yes.... Did they raise their original retail prices since they came out with the newer designs? I don't remember...

They haven't changed the bag designs, just added more choices in fabric, so I don't know if there would be a major difference in prices, though they've "updated" their catalog....

Yeah! I just saw these bags IRL for the first time this last week. Boy was I impressed.

Is there a way to call in our CC#? Email really isn't a secure way to give out a CC #. I can do a personal check though if it isn't an option.

If you feel OK doing it, some of us were going to fax her our CC#'s last time. They sold out before I had the chance.

When will Tracy know if the 6000 fabrics are included and when they will be in stock????

Thanks for organizing this!

Those fabrics are gorgeous!!

Last time I emailed her my CC# broken up into about 4 different emails, and then found it they were sold out! LOL.

Katie, they are BIG, and I would say sure if you were going to have a toddler and a baby, but I'm not sure about toddler and two babies. I'm a heavy packer and was cloth diapering, though.

I just noticed, do they not sell black anymore?

I sure hope that the new colors are included--every bag I *really* want to order is a 6000! When will she let us know if the 6000 bags are included in the co-op? I love my Navy Kecci and sure would like to get one of those new color choices!!

BTW, did anyone talk to Tracy about accepting paypal, just for the co-op? Is that possible?

Edited to add: I also emailed Tracy about the re-availability of some of the 'old' colors.
She said: "We will be getting in Red and Chartreuse by the end of Nov. But not more Mint Green. Going forward we will no longer reorder -- once goods are SOLD OUT -- THATS IT - they are sold out!" (emphasis mine)
I won't be dilly-dallying with my order this time!! (Sorry PP, I did not ask about the Black)

Tracy's still checking to see on these. Everything's kind of up in the air until the bags come in but at least she confirmed the 4000 and 5000 series. I can't imagine why there would be a problem with the 6000 bags though. I'll e-mail her and let her know that there is a lot of interest in the 6000 bags. :D

I have both the Kecci and MS and I find the MS to be larger - in every way - depth, length, and height. I can email you a photo off-line of the two side by side if you'd like. Also, the Kecci is a "floppy" bag and the MS is highly structured. Someone here posted that the Kecci is large, however, it is my smallest baby bag (maybe I have HUGE bags..) and holds the least amount of stuff. The Kecci seems closer in size to the A7 and Skip Hop - IMHO.

I've been holding off after my Timbuk2's. But the coop price is just too good. Oh they have to include the 6000 series! I'm thinking maybe a caramel, an azalea, and maybe a navy too. Oh, and maybe a silver for my SIL... I'm bad :) I should stop reading up on the other bags.

A friend who is not a member of BBB asked me if she needs to be a BBB member to participate in this co-op. I haven't participated in a BBB co-op yet myself, so I'm not exactly sure how this works.... I figure, she can either sign up for the board, or I can purchase one on her behalf when I order one for myself!

Just wondering.... Thank you in advance!

Wow. That's a great price.

I think I read somewhere that the Kecci is almost identical to the PPB. Is it the same size and quality? I've seen the PPB IRL, but not the Kecci. I thought it was too big for me, since I'm petite. If they are similar, maybe I'll go look at the PPB again. I'm really liking the Kecci in caramel. Can't beat the price.

I can't comment on the interior of the bag, but I must say that I LOVE the fact that Kecci bags have a brocade strap, unlike PPB's ugly black nylon backpack strap. For that extra $100 or so dollars, you'd think PPB could throw on the pretty fabric!!

I'd love to buy one of the bags--especially if the 6000s are included. The truffle color is calling my name.

Wanted to alert you - shipping charges DO apply!

I emailed Tracy to see if I could place my order now for a Shanghai Mommybag that is showing "in-stock" on the web site (Red, CM4000-13) - she said OK so I placed my order. Tracy wrote me within hours of receiving my order today:

"Audrey - Unfortunately we must charge for shipping - I do believe its around $8.60. Please let me know if you still want your order to go through or not. Regards, Tracy"

Disappointingly, the shipping is NOT free.

Did anyone have any problems with her on the previous co-op? She has my credit card number now and I'm feeling a little concerned about this situation...

i didn't have any problems w/ her last time at all. however, they said they would honor the co-op price of 37.00 incl shipping once the bo'd bags came in, so i think they should honor that (red and black were bo'd i think). also, no way that bag costs 8.60 to ship, unless they're overnighting it to you, which i seriously doubt. i just shipped a 30# stroller from MA to MD and it cost me 12.50.

Dear group,

Tracy and I swapped more emails - She had informed the organizer about the shipping charges on 10/27 because their production costs have increased. Unfortunately, this information hadn't been posted to our co-op.

Tracy wrote me with the following shipping information:

"1) Buy one Shanghai and we will drop shipping to $5 per bag flat fee - Until Dec. 15th.
2) Buy two Shanghai Bags and get shipping free - until Dec 15th!

Please Note: this offer is only good for the 4000 & 5000 ranges and ONLY UNTIL DEC. 15TH.

We do NOT operate the Co-op and cannot speak to its policies regarding disclosure of information nor why the site was not updated to reflect the change in policy and pricing, however, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. I hope the above arrangement satisfactory to all."

So, there IS a shipping charge for 1 bag or the 6000 series bags, but Tracy has lowered it for us. Happy shopping,

All very good questions! Please email Tracy at Kecci about when to order and the 6000 series bags and let us know what she says! She is very responsive by email (use the email address posted above or [email protected])

Mariana, the bags are $37 plus shipping.

Heidi, yes - my understanding is $5 for 4000 and 5000 series bags and $8-9 for others. I'm not sure if the shipping costs vary with your location - I live in Texas and was quoted the $8-9 for 1 bag. You may want to check with Tracy to see if the shipping is location dependent or not (she didn't really tell me one way or the other).

I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else. Take care,

If you have more question about this co-op, please contact Tracy directly at [email protected] or [email protected]. She has been very responsive to me by email. Let the rest of us know anything you learn so we're all informed about what's going on! TIA!

She wrote me:

"The 6000 range is not in stock now & I dont know if they will be in before Dec. 15th the cut off date for the above agreement. I CANNOT PROMISE that this promo will continue for the 6000 range when we do get them in.
You may order the 4000 & 5000 range now but pls note we have store orders to fill first but we will get to all of the BBB orders.

Shipping charges are calulated by weight by UPS or by whatever shipper we use. We have no control of what they will charge us. I do believe that each bag comes to around $8-$9. I do believe Canada & Alaska would be higher & there could be other states (as Im not in charge of shipping) so pls dont quote me on the above.

Regards,
Tracy"

Lynne,

I just saw this & wanted to let you know that I got one at the Rack at Park Meadows (the old navy color) a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure about it because Chinese Brocade has never been my "thing". I finally took the tags off last week & I LOVE IT! I'm trying to decide on another fabric, just for variety, but it's really hard.

Anyway, the Rack was really good about calling me when they got new ones in a few months back. I didn't buy one then because I didn't want red or black.

I can snag one for you, just to look, if I see one there. Heck, you can look at mine if you haven't seen one IRL yet.

Let me know.

I just ordered the Cornsilk, which is listed above as Silver. I didn't like it until I looked at the larger picture on the Kecci site. I liked the Chartreuse a lot too, but I was afraid it wouldn't go with any of my clothes.

It looks to me that the OLD Chartreuse (4000) is more of a winter color than the NEW Chartreuse (5000). But that could be different IRL.

Edited to remove Audrey's e-mail forward, per her request. :)

Boy I owe you girls a HUGE apology - I really dropped the ball here and I've been away from this thread.... I didn't think anyone was ordering before Nov 15 b/c Tracy made it pretty clear (see below) not to order until then. I was sure that my initial post was going to get buried so I had intended to check back and bump up the initial post closer to the co-op start date anyway. On 10/27, Tracy DID in fact inform me that shipping for this co-op was going to be additional and ask me to post it on the boards. I was 200% sure I had edited my original post to reflect this. However that was NOT the case, obviously. I've seen my posts disappear before, so I should have double-checked to make sure that my edit took place. I am so sorry I didn't and all the confusion it's caused. If Audrey had not went ahead and put in her order early, it never would've been posted since my edit didn't take, so it's a good thing some people don't follow the rules! :7 Thank you for posting the information, Audrey! For those of you who are interested, here is the actual long e-dialog I've had with Tracy. If you're not interested, please skip to the bottom. My e-mails are in italics, Tracy's in bold.

In a message dated 10/25@3:08 PM Tracy10017 writes:
Tracy's reply in bold

That's great! Do you want us to use the same order form and same process as before? same order and same process as before

They will be overjoyed to know this will include the new Mommybags! When will they be in stock? hopefully mid Nov.

For those ordering the new designs, do you want those orders to come in at the same time (like a preorder) or wait until they're in-stock? Wait until they are in stock - which is why I said we'll take orders starting Nov. 15

I noticed some of the new Mommybags are 6000... are you also included those? Are they a different design? they are different patterns - let wait until I know there's in stock otherwise we will be going back and forth like last time.

Then Tracy wrote:
PLEASE REMIND EVERYONE - THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR SHIPPING. I'm getting a lot of emails stating shipping is included & its NOT. $37 plus shipping as orig. arrangement

So I wrote:
I'm so sorry - when you said it was the same as before, I just copied and pasted the original order form and for the original co-op, the shipping was included. I remember when we discussed this and you went back to check with your boss - since the Mommybags were already $36.97 @ the Nordstrom Rack, the benefit of the co-op was that the shipping was included in the price and that beat out the Nordstrom Rack price. So shipping was not approved to be included in the price this time around?

In a message dated 10/26@12:18 PM Tracy10017 writes:
Shipping was always added to the cost. I doubled checked with our shipping department. Pls read below:

>>Co-op orders had shipping added to the $37 price of the bag and that total used to transact credit card sales. Any customers purchasing with an actual check must add on $8.60 to cover shipping and handling.

Thanks,
reid

In a message dated 10/26@2:29 PM, Tracy10017 writes:
Let me speak with our president before you amend anything.

I also wrote:
OK. Thanks for checking with the prez on that for us. So will you still be honoring the $37 (incl shipping) on the red & chartreuse colors from the original co-op? (So the shipping is additional on the new bags only starting 11/15.)???

I suspect people are going to want to know how much shipping will be... is it a flat rate or does it depend on where they live? I want to avoid people barraging you with countless e-mails on this...

I noticed online that you have a special spot for a coupon code... Since shipping is additional, would providing a special BBB code be easier for you instead of fielding e-mailed & faxed order forms? Just a thought....

In a message dated 10/27@9:58AM Tracy10017 writes:
Shipping and handling will be additional cost.

I believe some time on 10/27 Tracy also wrote me the flat $8.60 shipping rate and WHY they could absorb the shipping cost - b/c the bags Kecci also having to pay increased shipping costs to get the bags in this time around... I don't know why that message has disappeared from my Inbox archives but it isn't there. I have NOT been having a good computer week!!!!

Then 11/6, Tracy wrote me:
I feel since you were my first contact with the BB Co-op I should past this information on to you. There has been some confusion on the part of the members from the Co-op board about shipping. It was never our intention to mislead BB Co-op members but as I stated to Audrey, do to added cost and other elements we are no longer able to offer the original agreement of no shipping. Some where along the line this was never posted on the board. Do to that confusion, we feel that the below revisions on shipping will be an adequate salutation if not to all of your members at least to most of them. Please let your members know about our offer and the limited time available to them to place an order.

********************************************
OK, as I wrote Tracy, I am not purposefully trying to be anonymous or vague about my name. After countless correspondences with Tracy since the first co-op and even talking to her on the phone I was sure she already knew my name since we had already established a "business" relationship. On personal e-mails, I don't normally "sign" them as the addressees know who I am and recognize my e-mail. I guess this was not the case with Tracy. Unfortunately, some e-mail providers do not have an auto-signature line like my work e-mail and I have admittedly gotten lazy "signing" personal e-mails. ((On a side note, in this age of identify theft, I AM closely guarded about my personal information UNTIL I establish some kind of relationship with a person, as are many members here. You just never know what kind of freaks lurk where. Freaks were abundant on the breastfeeding & pumping groups I was in!)

In retrospect, I shouldn't have even posted anything about the co-op until right before it was ready to resume on Nov 15 and all the details were ironed out. When I got the go-ahead from Tracy and the start date, I was excited and wanted to share with everyone immediately since I knew a bunch of you were eagerly awaiting it. And when Tracy said "same order and same process as before", I naturally thought that included shipping too. Then I was surprised to hear they actually added shipping costs to the credit cards (which was not the case for me), AND they were not honoring the first co-op shipping for the backordered red & chartreuse bags OR for the new ones. Like I said, I edited my post to let y'all know but obviously it didn't work and I'm so sorry about that! :(

So anyway, to reiterate Tracy's most recent e-mail and Audrey's posts, here is the deal with shipping:
1) Buy one Shanghai and we will drop shipping to $5 per bag flat fee - Until Dec. 15th.
2) Buy two Shanghai Bags and get shipping free - until Dec 15th!
Please Note: this offer is only good for the 4000 & 5000 ranges and ONLY UNTIL DEC. 15TH.

As I understand it, the bags themselves (except 6000 series) are still $37, shipping costs vary as above.

Again, please accept my apologies for my editing snafu and all the confusion it caused. It was not my intent to mislead anyone at all. I'm just another mom trying to get a good deal for my fellow BBB & babybags moms. I will cross-post this on the babybags & diaperbagdiscounts boards so they know about the shipping costs as well.

Thank you so much for organizing this! Not to add to the confusion, but I wanted to add what Tracy posted in a new thread yesterday to this thread just so that everyone has the correct fax number:

OK, the original order form has a fax of 212-947-2793.

Some of the posts with forwards of Tracy's e-mail say 425-962-0447. I live in WA and 425 is a prefix for a Seattle burb, which is weird, since Tracy is in NY and Pinnacle Priority is in TX. Did this number work for anyone?

The lastest post by Kecci forwarded by swan01 says 817-375-1517.

So which one are y'all using?

I believe that they do have an office or warehouse in Texas. When I had a problem with my bag, my replacement bag was shipped from Texas. I have not tried faxing them anything yet as I am not sure if I will order or not.

Wow, it looks like you've really put a lot of time into organizing this. I'm not sure yet if I'll be ordering but I, for one, totally appreciate all the work involved in getting this deal available to me. I just hope nobody gives you any grief.

Sending you a really big heartfelt "THANK YOU".

Well, Whitepages.com says 212 is NY, 817 is Ft Worth,TX area, and 425 is Bellvue WA area.

I'm thinking the 817, but if someone else knows, I'd sure like the poop on this.

Does anyone know which colors are in the 4000 and the 5000 series. The web-site does not indicate which series each bag is.
Thanks,

You have to click on the bag, and when it opens up a larger picture, it will show the item number at the top.

I also emailed my order, but haven't heard back. I think that might be the norm, but I did email her to ask for confirmation. Haven't heard back yet though.

Dear supercalifragilous,

Thank you for coming back to the boards!

I did, actually, follow your instructions in your original posting and wrote Tracy to see when I could order a bag (4000 series) that was showing "in-stock" on the web site. Tracy told me it was fine to go ahead and place my order.

After 10 emails and 3 days over the shipping costs, I "went to bat" with Tracy over the shipping expenses and I was very impressed that Kecci did give us an improved price for shipping.

I completely understand your desire for privacy, and ask for the same courtesy from you. I would really appreciate it if you would not post any more of the emails that I sent to another person - especially out of context (since you didn't see all of our other communications). I would have sent you a private message but you have disabled your user profile.

I do appreciate your arranging this co-op - thank you,

Audrey, mother to Graham

Hi Audrey,

Thankfully, I definitely think YOU are the reason for getting this co-op a better shipping deal when you "went to bat" with Tracy. :D I clearly wasn't getting anywhere, even in trying to have her honor the previous free shipping deal for the backordered red & chartreuse bags! Usually we are completely at the mercy of the merchant's decisions, take it or leave it. So anyway, thank you for haggling with her and getting the group a better shipping deal!

In some past co-ops, when a merchant has been inundated with questions about stuff that's already been posted (yes I know I failed here) or sent angry/flame e-mails, IME sometimes the merchant gets discouraged from doing a co-op again and/or regrets even doing one. In this case, your initiative was fortuitous for everyone and I definitely wasn't trying to make you defensive about it! :D As you now know, organizing the details of a co-op isn't always easy!

I apologize for posting your e-mail; Tracy probably forwarded it to me to establish why she was so understandably frustrated with me, sending me an example of one irate e-mail from a BBB member. I had no idea you had corresponded with her so extensively! Wow! Conversely, you did not edit out my screen name (forwarded by Tracy) in your post, either, which is why I felt compelled to explain why I am so private about my identity. But I'm not upset about it and you don't even have to edit it out. :) I just edited my post to delete your e-mail as you requested. Again, sorry about that! x(

Oh, about sending e-mails/PMs:
I can see you're relatively new to the boards (Welcome, BTW!) - you can still send an author an e-mail or PM even though their user profile is disabled! A user profile basically includes geographic & personal information (name, gender, personal comments, etc.) and avatars/pictures.

On the right upper corner of a post, under the date/time stamp, there are icons for sending the author e-mail, private message, viewing profile (if enabled), adding them to your buddy list, etc. You can send me an e-mail or PM anytime! It's a great way to get to know a member off the boards and I've met lots of fantastic moms this way!

Thanks for the tip on email!!

I really appreciate your understanding. You also made a very good point and I did edit my previous email (another thing that you just taught me to do!) to remove your usernames. When I wrote that post, I was feeling very alarmed about the entire situation...

Thanks for being such an outgoing mom and arranging for this for us. I AM very grateful! The bags are going to be GREAT,

About the 6000 series, Tracy at Kecci said:

"The 6000 range is not in stock now & I dont know if they will be in before Dec. 15th the cut off date for the above agreement. I CANNOT PROMISE that this promo will continue for the 6000 range when we do get them in.
You may order the 4000 & 5000 range now but pls note we have store orders to fill first but we will get to all of the BBB orders."

Doesn't look promising for the 6000 bags...

Any of you going to just order what's available and hope that the 6000s will be available before the co-op ends on Dec. 15th? I really love the caramel and the steel blue. Oh well. ;(

The shipping deal doesn't bother me. I live in a small city and shoppping sucks here. I'm a huge online shopper. I'm used to paying shipping charges if I really want something bad enough.

I have a feeling some of us will be checking the Kecci website daily to see if the 6000s are in stock. If you happen to notice, PLEASE post and let the rest of us know! Thanks! ;-)

Hmmm...what would be the next best thing?

I keep trying to read the threads and I am so confused.

Now that some of the 6000s say "in stock", can we go ahead and place an order for them?

If so:

1) What will be the shipping be (same? $5.00 for one, free for two?)

2) Will these bags ship out right away or when should we expect to receive them (in time for Hanukah and Christmas?)

Thanks!

the steel blue and the garnet are included in the co-op price--the teal is listed as 'in-stock' but is not part of the co-op....I think there was another color, too....azeala...ok, those are included in the co-op price. Does anyone know if there is a way to contact Tracy without sending our CC numbers via email. I know that she's probably had a ton of emails from this co-op and is about ready to pull her hair out, but I don't feel safe emailing or faxing her my CC number--what if she misplaces the fax???
