Hi, I just wanted to share my new find at the North Face! I've been wanting to downsize to a small backpack style diaper bag now that my baby is essentially a toddler.(I already have a Mothership and a Petunia Picklebottom Boxy backpack and a Coach diaper bag.)

It isn't offically a diaper bag, but today I found at North Face a small backpack that appears to be ideal for "daily in and out of the house type trips." It is called the Pandora II. It is smallish with extremely comfy straps and a nice padded back.

It is small, but I can fit quite a bit into it including my padded changing pad from my mothership, my wipes container, 2 (size 4) diapers, a Nuby sippy cup, 2 bibs, a spoon, a single serving applesauce, small ziploc of goldfish crackers, a medium size wallet, and eye drops all in the main compartment. Then I can squeeze in the front zippered compartment, my tiny credit card/cash wallet, cellphone, keys and calendar in the front pocket.

And when I wear it, I can barely feel it! So far, I am loving it! Plus at $39 it didn't cost nearly as much as my other bags. I figure it is my version of a backpack "escape pod", but bigger, so it can actually hold a bottle, etc.

constantly in the pursuit of the ultimate stroller and diaper bag,

Jennifer,

Thanks for sharing! I am trying to downsize as well. DS just turned 2 years old and I am still trying to get over the feeling of needing to pack everything! LOL!

Did you get this bag at a North Face store, another retailer (like REI), or order it online? The price is good and I am definitely interested in seeing it. I can't get the link you gave to work. It keeps saying "Page Cannot Be Displayed". Hopefully, the website will be working soon!

Thanks again!

Hmm, I'm still looking for a small backpack. this sounds perfect. What color did you get? Can you post photos of it packed????

Is the interior black or light???

TIA

I bought it at a North Face store. I got the red one. Although the pink was cute too, but I wanted it to be something my DH could wear too. I thought about the white/silver one because it would match my stroller better, but I thought it might get dirty too fast. If the link isn't working just go to the northface.com website and look under "gear", then "packs". It's called the Pandora II.

Here are pictures of it on me (I'm only 5'1") and also in comparison to the mothership. It looks smaller in real life than in the picture. Also pics of the inside packed, and what I could fit into it. The stuff on the right I put in the front pocket, everything else I fit in the main compartment. It has lots of pockets. I put the sippy cup in the deep meshy/web pocket on the inside front wall of the main compartment. It has a clasp buckle to help keep it closed if necessary. On the back wall there are two pockets, a small top mesh zippered one where I keep an extra pacifier and eye drops, and a large open pocket on the bottom where I put the changing pad, wipes box, and 2 diapers. Then, there is plenty of room in the main compartment for applesauce, bibs, gum, etc. The zippered small pocket in the front has 3 pockets and 2 pen pockets. The zippers unzip almost completely so you can really get to everything.
